Not really, think about it..the smartphone & Tablet also use ARM holdings chipset designs..or Other such like Snap Dragon..or All winner..etc. Nintendo's handheld line use ARM holdings Arm 11..soc with a PICA 200 for its GPU.

Transition to now another ARM holdings chipset is not only Smart but also pretty much playing into Nintendo's strong point in mobile platform game development.

Think about it from Nintendo's 1st party development's that they have produced for such a platform!

The fact and in blunt truth, Nintendo is one of the best group development publishers and content game creator's on the ARM chipset in existance.

We know this because the mass number of smartphones use pretty much the same core base chipsets by manor vendors in the space..but just look at the content Nintendo is able to get out of the hardware that they are using..now think about it..

what will Nintendo be able to do with even more robust hardware of the ARM or snapdragon or all winner..etc hardware.

Nintendo has been developing on such hardware now for decades! And the older chipsets instead of the newer ones that they are now developing for.

Imagine the transition from what the 3DS is now to that of what the 3DS can become in an upgraded form..if the 3DS became a smart-tablet esk device..How would that kill off their handhelds?

It really would'nt..it just makes what Nintendo 1st party can offer for their handhelds in gaming for their consumers that much more immersive in my opinion.

My point is the age of full retail games is officially over now we get half a game and pay $100 to get the rest of it digitally. Nintendo didnt start as a smartphone developer if they did then obviously I wouldn't care, but they didn't. And to see a company who used to release full polished games turn to this is really disappointing. Thats my point.

Nintendo is a business, and ignoring a significant portion of potential customers is a mistake. Nintendo has not completely gone mobile, but they are embracing a signficant and rapidly growing population of potential customers. I think they have stated and have shown they intend to carefully toe a clear line they are using this to gain attention of these customers only, nothing more.

Ignoring these customers and not playing their game to some degree.

I wish nintendo good luck but I can't stand playing mobile games. I've played and own every FE but I'll be steering clear of microtransations, small screens, fiddly controls and watered-down content.
