Delaila from The OuterHaven writes:
"Koei Tecmo and Team NINJA released the alpha demo for the upcoming action-RPG game, Nioh. Much like the unforgiving nature of Souls Games (Demon Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne), Nioh obtains the “ready to die” concept. Nioh applies the fundamental gameplay mechanics of the Souls games to a different narrative and setting. In the age of the samurai, a lone traveler named William (Geralt much?) lands on the shores of Japan. He must fight his way through the land infested by demons called Yokai and vicious warriors."
Many of you who have already played Rise of the Ronin may have noticed some elements of our previous works such as Ninja Gaiden and Nioh from Team Ninja. Today we’re excited to share some of the behind-the-scenes development stories for the first time. Plus we share details on an upcoming game update.
not a good title FPS RUSSIA. should have gone with: "new content added'. ... or something like that
try : 'New and expanded content 5 new Ally Missions added. + Addition of dojo training partners"
Team Ninja: "The Nioh franchise has sold over 6 million copies worldwide now!"
At 6 million NiOh is on the cusp of nearly outselling Ninja Gaiden’s 6.8 million with just only 2 titles under its belt
This could mean Team Ninja may see no reason to return to producing new NG games
they deserve this, Nioh is a amazing game. Hopefully they will expand and make a more ambitious game and have even more sales.
With PlayStation Now’s May lineup, you can try to survive unrelenting yokai in feudal Japan, rub shoulders with manga icons, and battle your way across an entire city. Starting tomorrow, May 4, Nioh, Jump Force and Streets of Rage 4 will be available to play on your PS5 or PS4 console.
Ohh I always wanted to try Jump Force. Can get back on my fantasy of being Goku :)
Nioh was given out on PS Plus around a year ago (most people who have PS Now also have PS Plus) and Jump Force is not particularly good. There's a big gap in quality between PS Plus and PS Now.
I found this to be an awesome demo. The combat and overall gameplay was so addictive to me. I started the demo with the plan to play it for a short while and then go back to Dark Souls 3, but instead I got hooked and ended up playing it until like 3am. There is a lot of depth and strategy to the combat and I love the mystical Feudal Japan setting.
The game shapes up to be another hit for Sony and Team Ninja. Very deep fighting system and addictive in a great and fresh setting!
So far enjoying the demo a little bit at a tiem, still can't believe some people are much stronger than me at level 10 with half purple gear, I die much faster and they killed things much faster. Definitely more leveling-up/skills/gear oriented than Dark Souls, and harder too if you don't grind for those things. I like the environments and feudal Japanese influence. Visuals- Not impressed, in fact, disappointed at the graphics quality at an unsmoot/stuttery 30fps.
Really wish they'd get rid of the armor durability mechanic
Kinda needs to stop comparing and see it for what it is.
