Get rid of the movement systems/exo suits and future settings.

WellyUK2934d ago

That's not the problem though. The Dev team and publisher is. The reason cod has not been as good is because the good IW split and CoD has never been as good since then, Treyarch did alright with Blops 3 but even they aren't very good at cod and never have been.

Mister_Info_Tek2934d ago

It is the problem, future games do not have the feel to it like the older ones do. it's call of duty, not jump around and wag your tail duty

WellyUK2934d ago

well they could make a more gritty and realistic looking cod with the packs and the futuristic setting etc... People just see future as colorful for some reason when it can easily be dark and gritty.

iTechHeads2934d ago

Why? Just go play COD4 if don't like the new ones.
BO3 is the best-selling in recent years.

AlphaCentyros2934d ago

just go play COD4? Yeah that's not how it works and you know that. It's like Don Mattrick telling us to buy X360 if we don't like the XBone always-online feature.

I just stopped buying after MW3 and if they returned to WW2 I would probably instantly buy it.

Bobertt2934d ago

I would but the servers don't work anymore. Blackops 3 is ok but i don't get the excitement i got from the older games.

SKullDugger2934d ago

Just because it is the best selling in years does not make it a good COD game.

Liqu1d2934d ago

COD4 is dead and hackers are dancing on it's corpse.

Clown_Syndr0me2934d ago (Edited 2934d ago )

@Bobertt Since when? I played Cod4 the other day. They're not dedicated so work fine?

I agree sir get rid of the exo suits and all this future driven BS...

MRMagoo1232934d ago

imo they should just do a remake of COD 4 MW , I would pick that up in seconds.

News4Noobs-2934d ago

The problem is not only the exo suits.. it is also all the extra bullshit they put now, all those perks, attachments etc. I remember COD4, it was mostly about having skills, gun vs gun. Now it mostly depends on all the BS attatchments you have your weapns and perks you have. Before COD didn't have all that extra stuff mainly for noobs or people who just depend on them.

Bring back COD4 gameplay style, choose your attachment, the 3 perks, your favorite gun. And good luck out there soldier.

Rachel_Alucard2934d ago

Yeah and Juggernaut and Stopping power on every class was totally skillful to use.

we4202934d ago (Edited 2933d ago )

I agree. Tbh though people cried and cried about CoD not being different and now that it is different, people are crying to go back.

It was fine how it was, don't fix what isn't broken

Kizwiz62934d ago

It wasn't fine how it was because players were simply oversaturated with the franchise and its rehash conventions. Our society tends to gear towards new trends, then often revisit the old ones. In gaming, the same thing has happened with platforming titles, as a fair amount of people now feel they're undrepresented for typical FPS or RPG games.

Wait is that really from the game? hahaha I haven't touched COD since Modern Warfare2. I played a few mins of Advanced warfare but I don't count that since it was me fighting not to throw up at the crap gameplay.

CurdledGoblin2934d ago

Black Ops 3 is the CoD that has completely made me stop in my tracks. If you saw my gameplay hours of the seriesfrom the past several releases, it would look like I'm a skier heading downhill as quickly as possible. lol And you nailed it! The gameplay has just become crap.
I'm not taking anything away from those than enjoy it, but I've been playing since the very first CoD release. The "evolution" of the title is just poor. It's generic and boring now.

Shubhendu_Singh2934d ago

Campaign and petition will rise and fall...and it won't matter.

Activision will keep the formula same as long as people/gamers/kids keeps buying them. Simple as that.

OoglyBoogly2934d ago

I'm playing Call of Duty 2 now and having a blast. Games, especially Call of Duty, would do some good kicking it back a little bit.

I wish we'd get another Brother in Arm's...played Hell's Highway earlier and MAN is it a blast!

ZombieKiller2934d ago

I agree whole heartedly with this! Although I'm playing Black Ops 3 for the zombie mode, I've grown to hate the COD series. On top of Activision damaging the brand with Microtransactions and season passes, it's become a rehash, "brand of" a game. All the gritty war-torn scenery has been replaced with golf courses, colorful water slides and non warlike environments. What once was clever banter, is now replaced with lines that make me cringe at the end of every match. I know it's just a game, but games (specifically COD) are supposed to be simulations what is, or what may be. So ask yourself this, is this really what the future is going to be like? Because... Just kill me now.
However, I do think Black Ops 3 is a great game and it has the best zombies experience I have played to date, but the campaign feels disconnected from the other two games (story wise i LOVED the Ops campaigns), the multiplayer feels almost exactly like Black Ops 2 except no boots on the ground (which sucks imo, i miss old school TACTICAL Call of Duty) and seriously screw that lag compensation. Rockin 100/100 FiOS and I can't seem to get a Kill at all sometimes. I miss the days of old where the game mattered more than the money did. Just like a lot of businesses though, they had their run and now are just living off of brand name I feel. My attitude is the problem though as i keep giving them power by buying every year. As much as this itself is the problem and i hate to say, I'm still going to say it: I guess we'll just have to wait till next year to see what Infinity Ward does.
Until then I guess I'm sticking with zombies.

Sony And Bend Studio Need To Bring Back Syphon Filter, Not Some Vain Live Service

The iconic stealth-action Syphon Filter series is nowhere to be seen, while Sony's busy planning more ridiculous live services.

Skuletor19h ago

Sometimes bringing back an old IP is like digging up a corpse and peeing on it, just look at Duke Nukem Forever, be careful what you wish for.

Jingsing11h ago

You are essentially asking Sony to make a better game than MGSV. That is risky given were stealth action games are right now.

Eonjay11h ago

If Sony can make a multiplayer component to go with a story mode like the great PSP games I think people would like this alot.

ApocalypseShadow9h ago

I've always wanted a reboot of Syphon Filter 1 at the quality level of Uncharted 2 or better. But the game has been abandoned like many previous Sony games that made other generations memorable.

The music, the voices, the story, the weapons and the amazing Taser were awesome for the time. The boss battles cool. But Bend and Sony don't care about bringing it back. About as bad as many other properties from Sega, Capcom, Namco, Konami, etc that we'd love but won't be getting.

Psychonaut852h ago

Yup. Seems like Sony is dialing back on the live service plans but not completely. I wish they’d just can them in general. Maybe just let Bungie do Marathon and pivot everyone else.

The Name "Embracer Group" Is No More, But Don't Say You Didn't See It Coming

A reckless buying spree only to jeopardize it all, Embracer Group's heinous practices have done a lot of damage; it had the downfall coming.

mastershredder2d ago

THEY. It's a collective of investors that give no f-s unless the monkey dances for money and delivers. downfall? Urm.. dude... do you understand this is a rinse and repeat process? They won and bailed before plane crashed, the working industry did not. People saw investment money and sold themselves and the industry out like hot real estate, and now look at it. Honestly, you should be more upset with the studios that jumped on board for the carrots rather than those that were handing them out.

Knightofelemia2d ago

Seen it coming. When a fool spends money with out a plan and purchases every thing they see. Those they have purchased feel the ramifications. Now Embracer has to sell off studios to make up for their stupidity. I am just glad Gearbox went to Take Two and not to someone like say Tencent. What Embracer did was stupid and because of their stupidity bottom feeders like Tencent will be circling around picking at the scraps. Next time if there is a next time fully plan something out before whipping out the cheque book. Figure out how you can utilize the company, figure out how they can fit in, figure out how you can work with them and how their games can fit in nicely with the purchase. Being a dumbass with out a plan and a big cheque book does bite you and those around you in the ass.

TheColbertinator15h ago

Disgraceful publisher. I had some hope in them when they saved the THQ properties but now they are a stain on the industry.

Inverno14h ago

It's splitting up, the people who caused this shite show will still be around. Who knows how much more damage they will cause. Or where most will move onto in the future. Industry gotta be careful, you sign yourselves away thinking you'll have funding and security only to be bought up to be fed into a grinder.

anast14h ago

A lot of people lost their job while others made a ton of money.
