The Surge offers a brutal twist on Lords of the Fallen's tense formula

Deck13's upcoming action game, The Surge, is brutal in every sense of the word.

It might have to be through games like LotF and this that I ease my way into the Dark Souls series...

On length:
"A normal playthrough can easily amount up to 20-25 hours, depending on your playstyle, and if you want to explore every corner of the world and fight every mini-boss, it can take you much longer!"

Pretty solid length! Shaping up to be a hidden gem of a game that should not be ignored.

I agree. Ppl would rather hype Bloodborne n DS clones though. Props to Deck for swapping style so seemless. From LotF to Surge to Atlas. When others just reuse assets.

Game looks beautiful and fun. Ppl are sleeping on D13. I love they no longer mimic DS and BB with their setting. One of the few to use unique Soulslike settings. If u classify Atlas as such. It looks less souls, more action, but still. Has a touch of Darksiders even. Small touch. I like the setting, combat, visuals, and sand surfing. Looks like a fun 7.5.

Actually been a cult fan of Deck 13 since Lords if the Fallen. And actually really looking forward to this. Reminds me of Darksiders 2 which is one of my favorites. Just looks like fun with nothing getting in the way of that

Focus is becoming my favorite AA publisher. I was even impressed by the LotF reboot. A ton of interesting games in the pipeline
