The Technomancer Now Runs at 900P@30 on Xbox One; 7th Core Gain Not Huge on Either PS4/XB1

The Technomancer developers were targeting 1080P@30FPS on both PS4&XB1, but they had to lower the resolution to 900P on Xbox One.

The developers have tried but at the end of day its Microsoft decision to create an all in one box coming into play again

Alexious2962d ago

Yeah, in the end it's better to have a stable frame rate. But Microsoft should have really created a more powerful console or just sell it for less.

It's interesting to me the way certain people act as if there are some kind of guidelines for how powerful a console has to be in a given generation. There really aren't.

Every generation there are stronger and weaker consoles. Did people give Sony crap over the fact the PS2 was weaker than the original Xbox? That was a much bigger difference. The Xbox had twice the RAM (32mb vs 64mb), a more powerful and easier to use CPU, and a much more powerful graphics processor. The PS4 and XB1 are comparatively much closer in performance (with basically the same CPU and RAM amounts, and only the GPU being somewhat more powerful in the PS4).

Both Microsoft and Sony have now taken their turns having the weaker console in different generations.

Unless Sony and Microsoft work together or give each other constant updates throughout the planing and development of their respective consoles I don't know how the two consoles would ever end up exactly the same in terms of performance. One console is always bound to end up at least somewhat weaker than the other. This time Microsoft ended up with the weaker console, next generation it might go the other way. We really don't know. And neither do Sony and Microsoft.

It's their opinion. It's what they find important.

I'm very little into Nintendo consoles because partially of the power it lacks (the other part because of the IPs that are drawn to it based on the level of power). I know it's their right to have that level of power and focus on IPs that aren't similar to the other consoles, but I would rather they put out a console with the same level of power of their competition and allow developers to make what they want as well as continue to put out their type of games.

Hvd222, u should say something like " the console with my best exclusive "
This " indie station " thing is getting old n " best " exclusive is subjective in FACT, ps4 offers more games than xbox one and with good ratings n diversity.

Oh, and indies are games too n some are fantastic. U should try em sometimes

Dragonking0072961d ago

Yup now you see why ms and sony deciding to upgrade there hardware its not enough power to render perfect gameplay.

Shame that the 7th core isn't enough, but it's not a massive surprise to be honest.

nosferatuzodd2962d ago (Edited 2962d ago )

Lol yo odderz it's really funny, you remember when everyone believe the 7 core has some kind of secret sauce lol those were the days lol

LamerTamer2961d ago (Edited 2961d ago )

'Cause resolution is a big GPU taxing thing, not so much CPU, and the GPU in the xbone is still weaker.

I wouldn't have expected much gain in graphics by using more CPU.

It is the secret sauce that is going to make the Xbone run in 4K. That and the magical stacked hidden second GPU.

Phil322962d ago

Better that than a sloppy, inconsistent frame-rate at the very least!

LavaLampGoo2962d ago

Oh dear. Xbox ONE tries so hard but in terms of power it is just out matched.
