Microsoft today made good on a nearly three-year-old promise, unlocking the ability for all retail Xbox One consoles to become development kits free of charge.
Games Asylum: "There’s a demand on the digital services for inexpensive games; something cheap and cheerful to brighten a dull afternoon that could potentially be bought with leftover credit. With both limited budget and resources in mind, it pays for the developers of these smaller titles (Musashi vs Cthulhu costs just over £4, incidentally) to keep things simple and focused. There’s joy to be had in simplicity if it’s done well, and it’s up to developers to capitalise on this. Nobody expects a colossal, cinematic, RPG for under a fiver. Something simple that’s refined and fun to play? An entirely reasonable expectation to have. Problem is, low budget games can feel…low budget."

Requesting you to rev your engines and prepare for the countdown, NeoSprint has today gone and got itself a June release date.
"The preview only offers access to 448 MB of the Xbox One's 8 GB of RAM. When Dev Mode comes out of preview, Charla said, developers will have access to the full 1 GB of RAM supported for UWP Xbox games."
That will limit the types of experiences that this will offer.
WOW , love in what MS is doing and good for those that will use this feature .
So they actually did it. Nice. Pretty cool feature, might mess around with it for a bit and see what it's like. Never developed for anything other than pc so it'll be interesting to see what it's like.
Nice, I think I'm going to make salt and sanctuary for the X1. But I'll have to call it "Pepper and Holy Places"
