All Future Forza Games Will Come To PC, Says Microsoft

GameRevolution: "Today marks the first day of Microsoft Build Conference 2016, which means that you will be hearing a lot of news about the future of Microsoft, including its Xbox One strategy.

The first announcement regarding Xbox One has been confirmation that all future Forza titles will arrive on PC alongside Xbox One, beginning with the next release, which is rumored to debut later this year. Forza Motorsport 6's port to PC in the form of Forza Motorsport 6: Apex was just the tip of the iceberg."

MS Torpedoing the Xbox One by removing exclusives.

Sony torpedoing the PS4 with this PS4K nonsense.

Soon Nintendo is going to be the king of consoles at this rate!

Gazondaily2965d ago

The more people that get to play Forza the better. The best racing series by far!

Doubt this would be happening if the sales were as high as they should have been though. Definitely deaerved way more sales though. Forza Motorsport and Horizon 2 were just so much better thab anything on the market.

mikeslemonade2965d ago

NX won't sell more than 15 mil. And the PS4K is a April fools. You're right on the X1 is being removed essentially. And never really cared for Forza anyway on PC.

thereapersson2965d ago

I think this is a good thing; Forza with Oculus support will be the perfect competitor to Gran Turismo & PSVR.

AngelicIceDiamond2965d ago

More sales, possible crossplay, crossbuy etc. Its an obvious move by now considering they're bridging both platforms.

mcstorm2965d ago

I think this is a great move by MS. At the end of the day consoles are becoming more and more like pc's in terms of the hardware. If you look at what MS did with the xbox one you can see this was thought about when putting the xbox one on the market running windows 8.1, Hyper-V and Xbox os in one.

Also if you look at the path MS are talking about in terms of making a console backwords/forwards compatible this is them starting to tell us about next gen which I see the xbox becoming a box that they come out with every few years but the one that was released 2/3 years before will still play the games on the new box just the graphics level will not be as high as the new box.

For me this makes perfect sense as people can have a box they just plug in and pay or have a pc they can upgrade them selfs. It also makes the pc/consoles ports very easy to do and keeping everything under one brand in xbox/windows.

At the end of the day MS are under a new leader at the top and a lot of the way do but what they are doing is making MS work closer together in all its devisions and for me this is a massive plus.

If it also means more sales of forza I am all up for that as for me Forza Horizon 2 and Forza MS6 are the best racing games on console so far this gen and deserve bigger sales.

RiseofScorpio2965d ago

More crossplay eh? Yeah arent xbox one users forced to pay for online and Windows Xbox live users aren't?

Why o why2965d ago

Waluigi

Same with sony

Any crossplay game would have one side paying and the other not

morganfell2965d ago

@Why

Is Sony dumping their exclusives to PC? You missed the point.

Death2965d ago (Edited 2965d ago )

@Morgan,

Isn't the point Xbox gamers now have the option to play on more powerful PC's in the future? Should we spin, spin, spin the possibility of also playing online for free as being a bad thing on these PC's?

morganfell2965d ago

No Death the point is if they own a PC there is no need to own an Xbox. Since everyone ever has a gaming PC - just ask PC purists - there is no need to purchase an Xbox. By having a PC and a PS4 you have all of your bases covered.

The point being there is a reason to be online with PS4 exclusives because they are indeed...exclusive.

Death2964d ago

@Morgan,

If you are a PlayStation fan, you probably aren't looking at PC for your gaming fix any way. While I do agree you would get a larger selection of games by going PC/PS4, you would lose the synergy between PC/Xbox. It's no different than recommending PS4/Nintendo3DS over the benefits of having a PS4/Vita when you say it. Not everyone likes PlayStation exclusives. Recommending PS4 over Xbox to these gamers is a moot point if they don't share your taste or opinion. Microsoft Xbox has much more in common with Microsoft Windows devices. With the shared store/market place they will only become closer.

nintendos torpedoing is its future controller design. Seriously though, why can't we just give a regular controller with ps4/Xbox capabilities a try? WHHHYYYYYY

OoglyBoogly2965d ago

I don't get it either. Nintendo consoles sell because of the games, not because of the gimmicks (at least in my personal opinion).

Nintendo did just fine with more traditional controls from their very first console alllll the way to the GameCube.

Guys, just make a regular ass console. That doesn't mean you still can't have great 1st party titles.

When they do weird shit like this I can't help but feel that they're just alienating themselves and making it harder for 3rd party developers. I mean, the NX is rumored to be using an ARM processor. WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS WHEN THE OTHER CONSOLES ARE X86?!

Nintendo, you make great games, but otherwise your business decisions make no sense.

kraenk122965d ago

How would you know?! Nobody has seen the controller yet.

uth112965d ago

That controller was a fake though

lelo2play2965d ago (Edited 2965d ago )

Forza series is likely not selling as much as Microsoft hoped, so Microsoft had two options:
- End the series due to not enough sales.
- Expand the sales market by bringing it to PC.

Microsoft chose the 2nd option.

Like it or not, the PC gaming market is getting stronger and stronger... ignoring the PC market is a very dumb move.

SpeakTruthAlways2965d ago

"Like it or not, the PC gaming market is getting stronger and stronger... ignoring the PC market is a very dumb move."

100% this. This is the very reason Japanese devs have also started to take pc gaming seriously.

You'll be a fool to ignore pc gaming, it's making much more money than both xbox and playstation combined.

freshslicepizza2965d ago

too many people only see things from the console wars view. forza will be available to more people which will help finance it's future. at the end of the day it isn't about how many xbox sold compared to its competitors, it's about the software. does the xbox selling 40 million units make me enjoy forza more than 20 million xbox units and hundreds of millions of pc users having access?

no. in fact what it does do is open up even more options. you can't play any racing game on the consoles at 4k now can you? backwards compatibility on the xbox one is a good feature but an even better feature would be buying this game on your windows account and having the option to move from the xbox one to the pc and not have to rebuy that forza game if one wanted to get a decent pc and play it in higher resolutions. that to me is a much better feature than anything the consoles currently offer.

ScorpiusX2965d ago

Guess it going to be Nintendo king of the console market with true Exclusives and no BS gimmicks going forward .

XanderZane2611d ago

I will never play any XBox/Scorpio or PS4/PS4 Pro game on the PC. I will play they where they belong. On the game console. Of course I will gladly accept and play any PC game that decides to come to my game consoles. There will be many over the next 2-3 years.

Gazondaily2965d ago

Well hopefully there will be cross play as well. PC gamers have been asking for Forza on PC for years. Big news. The community will be even more formidable now.

ScorpiusX2965d ago (Edited 2965d ago )

pc gamer have been port begging for years , not liking this new CEO anymore to much sharing going on.
Making me miss the days of Bill Gates, Ruthless & didn't give 2 shits other than beating competition to a pulp.

TheCommentator2965d ago (Edited 2965d ago )

This is the beginning of an entirely new concept. PC and Xbox are going to be the same platform in the future. Think of how many PC exclusives there are compared to console exclusives. Tying everything into the UWP means that a new Xbox, Xbox "Two", will likely be a plug and play PC instead of a console in the traditional sense. If they do this, they will be beating the competiton to a pulp because every PC owner will be an Xbox owner by default. It'll be like choosing between a manual or an automatic when you buy a car.

--bienio--2965d ago

Can we say is big news or just the news? Well I Never played any of the Forza games so for me is nice different from others racing games... I will give my opinion after trying out this game if is worth having play.

And that's a big reason why I've shelved the game already. I'm doing this FOMO crap with them anymore.

Tacoboto151d ago

I wonder if Turn 10's spent so many years building systems (rebooting Motorsport, upgrading their engine, assisting Playground on Horizon, retooling the upgraded engine to support an RPG like Fable) that they've forgotten how to build a fun gameplay loop around those systems.

To reference DF's Forza vs GT video, ignoring the aesthetics and visuals, there is a huge philosophical difference in how they approach the fundamentals of getting the player into a vehicle and onto a track, so big it's almost like Turn 10 just doesn't "get it" anymore.
