3 things the NX needs to do to succeed

The first Wii proved that top-tier graphics and a move towards becoming an “entertainment machine” weren’t exactly what consumers wanted in a gaming console, while the Wii U "showed us that radicalizing that ideal can also be harmful to the console’s sales." Sheldon from Gamespresso breaks down what he thinks the NX must do to succeed when put head to head with the PS4 and Xbox One.

1. Easy for Gamers
2. Easy for Developers
3. Games, Games, Games

lol word that was so barbaric lol I was like WTF?

thorstein2980d ago

Yes. And put Dragon Quest, Pokemon, Zelda, and Mario available for the console at launch.

Systems would sell.

- More ambitious Nintendo games
- Something unique about the hardware that isn't some kind of motion/touch controls
- More public presence from Nintendo, and more openness

I Agree

and also give us hardware that isnt necessarily cutting edge but something we feel is a significant step up from this generation and not just a machine we feel just played catch up. That mind set is stuck in alot of ppl sminds and they wont shake it until they show and prove.

Also of course 3rd party support and bring us some cool online features.

3 things should = 3rd party support.

Nintendo really have shot themselves in the foot with the Wii. So much success yet so much damage done too!

ScubaSteve12980d ago

Unified account. I'm sick of buying virtual console games over and over.
Get rid of region lock
And have decent third party support

JBryant06192980d ago

Crossbuy really should be a thing for Nintendo. both the Wii U and the New 3DS have NES/SNES classics. If I buy SMB 3 on the Wii U, why can't I play it on my New 3DS?

They must have hardware that is easy to work with if they expect 3rd party support.

If they release some hardware that is hard to work on for others yet easy for Nintendo, they can easily expect to lose once again.

It is a gratifying experience to participate in activities such as collecting stars and making constellations, and you won't regret entering Hauntii's realm or solving riddles to earn more stars.
