Misleading title. Only 2-3 are original games.

Zelda for Wii U, from what we've seen so far looks to be amazing though.

EricWeichhart2972d ago

Well, the title never said they were main games.
It says they were Zelda games, which is right.

BTW, I also agree that the newer Zelda looks fantastic, I just hope it won't be glitchy.

NukaCola2971d ago

Well at least it's not as bad as how many Kingdom Hearts games have come out between II and III.

EricWeichhart2972d ago

And from the 8 games, 3 are remakes and the other 3 are spin-off titles.

I WANT TO PLAY THE NEW ZELDA GAME!

Spyroo2972d ago

I'd rather no more Zelda games. Sick of it. Drop it and make new IPs. Been 30 years

EricWeichhart2972d ago

They are people that still want more Zelda games and also there are people who never played a game too.

They were a few new IP lately at least, but I agree that Nintendo needs new IP but also don't drop old ones.
- Splatton
- Pushmo (Intelligent Systems)
- Boy Boy (HAL)
- Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. (IS)
- The Wonderful 101 (P+)
- Sakura Samurai
- Pocket Card Jockey (GameFreak)
- HarmoKnight (GameFreak)
(plus other digital titles)

They were also plenty of nice spin-off games that were different from the franchise they are based off:
- Pokken Tournament (Tekken crossover)
- Hyrule Warriors (Warriors crossover)
- Captain Toad
- NES Remix

EricWeichhart2972d ago

It isn't really that bad to be honest, mostly since Nintendo is starting to have a younger staff interested to do fresh games.

HomeofGaming2972d ago

Zelda is Nintendo's biggest IP alongside Mario, would be stupid to drop it. It might not be everyone's favourite game, but for the people who enjoy it, it is one of the best franchises.

3-4-52972d ago

@nus - Simple solution. Don't buy it.

Just because I don't like something doesn't mean others shouldn't be able to.

You should apply that to yourself.

That goes for any game or anything in life.

* I can't stand heavy metal music. Doesn't mean I don't want it to still be made. I'm glad it exists for those who love it.

ninsigma2971d ago

Here's a novel idea. Don't play it. I agree with making new IPs but Zelda doesn't need to stop just to do that.

Hey, Square Enix released too many Final Fantasy games to count after announcing FF XIII Versus almost 10 years ago and nobody seems to give a shit, but Zelda, oh, that's OUTRAGEOUS !!! :D

EricWeichhart2972d ago

To be honest, this image say nothing negative about the wait. It is just a curiosity.

Just saying.

SirBradders2972d ago

I think any diehard ff fan does your statement is crazy.

sdcard4gb2972d ago

Does my statement crazy ? :D
What does that even supposed to mean ?

SirBradders2972d ago

Should have been a comma in there lol.

wonderfulmonkeyman2972d ago

I've had fun with the majority of them.

I just wish they had re-mastered Skyward Sword and re-adjusted some of the annoying parts, while offering up an optional motion-less control scheme for the whiners that couldn't hack it.

Probably would have made it a bit more popular, and I'd have preferred it over Twilight Princess, much as I love Midna to death.

LaWiiG2972d ago

Forget Zelda, same story every time.

Spyroo2972d ago

Lol the Nintendo fanboys in denial giving you disagrees.

ReesesPuffs2972d ago

I've never understood people like you. You don't like these games or this series so you take time out of your day to go out of your way and talk trash about the series and rile up the people who actually do enjoy it. Personally I'm not the biggest fan of Uncharted but I don't go on the Uncharted articles and tell people eager for the new game that I think it needs to stop being made cause I don't like it.

sorenx2972d ago

i bet u play the last of us and uncharted enjoy ur interactive movie game

BosSSyndrome2972d ago

Jesus cant people just recogize that Tlou and Zelda are both fantastic. Lord...

Honestly I really changed my mind on Fi with the remaster because they didn't make her interrupt your gameplay every 5 seconds, that drastically changed my views on her

Inverno98d ago

Technically she's in ToTK but obviously can't take any other form than the sword she was made into. Also the companion feature has been done plenty of times in Zelda, I don't think it'll add anything new. If anything should be brought back it should be the Minish.

Directionless Modern Zelda Should Return to its 3D Roots

Matt from We Game Daily writes "The Legend of Zelda series has gone in a different direction. One which, try as I have, I just can’t get on board with. Here is why I think Zelda should return to its 3D roots."

Amen! A good, tight, Zelda game with a focus on dungeons and puzzles. Let people have the new style Zelda if you gotta, but let us have the OoT style games too. That's not without precedent either, the handheld 2D Zelda's in the style of A Link to the Past etc have coexisted alongside the 3D Zelda's before

FinalFantasyFanatic129d ago

As much as I like BoTW, TotK, I need my traditional Zelda games as well, I could not endlessly play the open world Zelda games, plus it's harder to keep those fresher than the traditional games.

Eidolon129d ago (Edited 129d ago )

BotW was just as fresh to the franchise as OoT was. TokT was great but the next LoZ would have to move from that formula to be fresh again. There's only so much they can do with the hardware. I think they focused too much on making the world big instead impactful. I felt the world was sort of empty and repetitive in TotK, sure there was a lot to do but no more difference a Ubisoft game..

anast129d ago

I wouldn't worry too much. Nintendo knows what they are doing.

Ristul129d ago

Wind Waker had a perfect balance of open world and a cool, well hand-crafted design. Maybe try to keep the open world but put in effort to make more memorable story driven quests and locations.

Zelda Fan Brings Godzilla to Life in Tears of the Kingdom

A fan of The Legend of Zelda has recreated the iconic Japanese monster Godzilla in Tears of the Kingdom using the game's Zonai devices.

Knightofelemia167d ago

I like it would also be cool if some created Dragon Caesar in the game I would love to watch the two going at it.
