Adriel writes: A while back, I spoke to one of my close game development friends about a game I had just bought: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1. When he asked my thoughts my experience thus far, I told him “[it has] really fun characters; pretty dry gameplay though.” to which he responded “[that is] far too common from Japan, and the inverse is far too common over here.”
VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "Console wars have been around pretty much since the dawn of videogames, but the Hyperdimension Neptunia series makes light of these arguments by personifying consoles and their manufacturers as cute goddesses and has them battle it out for supremacy. It proved to be a sleeper hit for publisher Compile Heart, who after an initially shaky start with the first entry transformed the series into its most compelling franchise."
Idea Factory’s games are so often full of life, exploding user screens with vibrant color, beautiful art, memorable characters and addictive gameplay. Unfortunately, Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed does little justice to the Neptunia franchise.
SG Gaming Info writes: "Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed is a rather boring brawler title. While the game retains the franchise’s humour the combat gets boring quickly and the story isn’t that interesting."
