Would You Play Star Wars: Battlefront If It Got A Campaign?

It probably won't ever happen but if you didn't get Battlefront because it didn't have a campaign, would you pick it up if it got a true story mode?

Yes and if they would also go back to class based system.Create a system doea not work E.g in the older SWBF if you wantes to blow shizznit up you had to be a heavy trooper or if you wantes to snipe you has to use scout trooper etc..Hopefully they go back into it next SWBF title.

The game had other problems, besides lack of a campaign.The game lacked depth, had dull combat, imbalanced weapons and heroes. The next Battlefront games should, be based around the original 2 and have some influences from Battlefield. Unfortunately since the game sold so well, EA likely won't put much effort into a sequel. They will likely just swap out the Rebels/Empire with Republic Clones/Droids and add some Clone Wars Era weapons, vehicles and maps.

yes i would play it and i m sure i would like it ...now i have not bothered at all to play the game because of the lame PSN/XO multiplayer charges

I disagree. You can imagine a sequel will be everything people hoped this one would be. The reason is bc DICE has already created such a gorgeous and well working foundation. They have the assets, the Frostbite engine has been tweaked and refined. All they need to do is use the same exact engine, most of the same assets and just create a huge amount of content and a throw away sp campaign.

Say what you will, but Battlefront is the best looking console multiplat of all-time. The combat is smooth and refined, the games runs and plays well. It just needs more content and a sp campaign. It could also use the usual tweaks and class adjustments, but a sequel is actually extremely promising due to the beautiful foundation.

DICE is an intelligent developer, they know the criticisms and will surely work to improve them in the next iteration. With that engine, Battlefront 2 (new BF2) has a world of potential.

Everything you said there is the reason I didn't pick it up. Played the beta and thought wow this couldn't be more Generic. It's not even a battlefield clone which imo would have Been far better.

Needs more vehicles, classes, more free content, balance fixes, better spawns and matchmaking, more factions, space battles, new planets and heroes we actually want to play as. Heroes in the upcoming DLC are garbage, they had 5 seconds of screen time. Where is Lando and Chewbacca?

I skipped it due to lack of SP Campaign. Even if it were to have a sub-standard SP Campaign like BF3, I would still have bought it. Star Wars was my favourite movie series long ago.

Nah, the Bad Company games had solid sp campaigns. I didn't think BF3 and 4 were terrible campaigns either, better than Cod Ghosts.

Many people would adore even a throw away sp campaign in Battlefront. I would. People love the Star Wars universe and want to explore it, they want cutscenes and drama Star Wars style. Cod campaigns are arguably worse imo, it's the modern age we live in. Games like Metro and Wolfenstein are examples of how to do sp well.

I personally would've cherished a 6 hour sp campaign. Obviously i'd prefer a fleshed out 14 hour campaign a la The New Order, but i'm being realistic.

The point is, that people don't get excited for short campaigns featuring generic soldiers with a boring setting. However, people would get excited to play that same short campaign but with iconic Star Wars characters and in the lush and lore filled universe that Mr. Lucas created. How do you not see the difference?

Think of it this way. Would you rather play a fighting game with generic no name characters? Or, would you rather play a fighting game with DC vs Marvel?

I think your right about the generic characters not making the single player interesting in past EA/Dice campaigns. Thats one thing that CoD has going for it, every year now they throw in some known actors/actress in there campaign and zombies, makes them more interesting for sure.

So I guess if EA/Dice did this, it could probably work. Well, put it this way, if Battlefront would have had something like that.....I would have bought the game. I had Battlefield 3 & 4, skipped Hardline and Battlefront because I just didn't want the same old mp I was used to with the old EA/Dice games.

Probably not... The MP doesn't have lasting appeal, and I'm sure the campaign would've be subpar at best... Probably a forced retelling of the movies

lel, here come N4G members coming out the woodwork saying that they would have played this bad campaign if the game had it. Then they would have complained that it was as bad as the ones in the later battlefield games or it was too much like the originals which were just bot matches.

I played the beta and actually thought the game was pretty fun. However I didn't buy because 1) no single player. 2) no galactic conquest 3) no space battles. Add any ONE of those features and I probably would've bought it. I loved the originals, but this Battlefront is barebones, there's no way around it. When I spend $60 on a game, I expect a full and complete game, not just a pretty one. (Just like I love to play Destiny, but I'm not supporting that kind of bs DLC practice)

The game was made in less time then it takes to make a Call of Duty. That's a fact.

From the ground up. All new. In less time then Call of Duty. THREE YEARS for Call of Duty. That's a fact.

I bought it because I KNOW the next iteration will be bigger and better and have a single player campaign.

But you can't create everything from scratch in 2 1/2 years.

People comparing this to Destiny simply don't know what the hell they are talking about. They had been working on the game for many years, then cut a bunch of that content, and then screwed you on nothing expansion packs, and if you wanted to buy season 2, you HAD to buy those nothing expansion packs too. Not to mention many other problems I won't go into here.

Battlefront on the other hand was a game whose release was limited to a certain time frame (Episode VII). Battlefront did succeed in creating a lot of content for how quickly it was made, and it is a stepping stone to a much larger experience. We could of waited a few more years to get our 1st Star Wars game, or we could of had this, with the rest still coming.

To have all the content people wanted, the game wouldn't of come out until late 2017 to late 2018. There will be more games out around that time too.

I'd rather have this now, and those others at the same or close to the same time.

They also had to make the movie release, which they did.

They didn't promise the moon. Many people stupidly expected them to make a game to top the massive content in the SECOND Battlefront from 10 years earlier, and do it in less time then a formulaic, same thing every year Call of Duty was made. Then they complained it wasn't some massive game, without even thinking about the constraints that were placed on them and the realities of the situation.

Bigger Star Wars games are coming, this was supposed to be a taste of what's ahead. Instead of looking at the game like that, people with no brains flipped out and went insane over the game.

You can't squeeze blood from a turnip, but some people will protest that you can't.

Now I can understand the position that someone would rather wait an additional 2 or so years for a fuller experience, but it is also a valid position to get a smaller multiplayer focused experience in the timeframe we got it. There's also been sales since this game came out. If you thought lesser content = less price, well you've had a chance to do that, and will have more.

The hate against Battlefront is just idiotic. 2 1/2 years. Just keep asking yourself how big of a Battlefront you could build from scratch in 2 1/2 years. They created a lot of content for 2 1/2 years from scratch. Anyone that thinks otherwise doesn't know what the hell they are talking about. This isn't some small indie game.
