Maybe it's just me but it sounds like the writer basically doesnt' like change very much, I understand the satisfaction of the difficulty of having the characters support one another and seeing it pay off, but at the same time if she herself personally chooses to just kinda throwaway any details of the other character's relationships simply to get their child units then that's on her personally, not really the game's fault.

While being limited to one person makes you really make a serious decision about who you want to be with, there's nothing stopping you from doing the same thing in the current system...you just have to manually do it as opposed to the game forcing you to.

I personally choose based on instinct, like couples I think compliment each other or do well together based on their conversations, sure I may not pair everyone with everyone else to go though all the hassle of finding the perfect partnership, but when i find a pair I think would be nice, I keep them together for the most part.

I do see what she means about having to be more aware of surroundings risking a lot to make those characters bond, unless i'm mistaken I think you can do that with the current system, just don't pair them, but have them fight next to one another.

Ya, it's a great system. I initially pick pairs and rank up, then mid-game realize half the characters suck, pick new characters to replace them and start all over again lol. Some are great all the way through though.

Then I purposely fight side by side with characters that DONT have any supports yet in order to get supports with everyone possible.

It's such a great little facet of the game that injects a lot more thought and strategy into the battlefield.

Are you playing Conquest or Birthright?

I'm doing Conquest first and this game is tough!

I do agree with you though. I do the same thing when pairing up characters. I just almost never have them actually pair up because they both won't attack like that. I only pair them together for the extra defense if I know I'm going to attack a strong enemy.

Having them stand next to each other still raises their relatiinship status though.

For instance, i thought the female knight and Arthur would make a team, so I have them travel side by side everywhere. She's got insane defense so i always have her as the lead attacker, this way she is the target of all enemy attacks and she almost never gets hit, but it also allows Arthur to attack without fear of taking damage. A mage would also be a good person to have as a companion for her.

I have Fire Emblem Fates LE, the European one. Not sure if it's as valuable as the US version, but it certainly was in high demand.

Chevalier112d ago

Don't think the European one would be as valuable since it's not region free. I got mine box and all and all those Yokai Watch games

Nyxus112d ago

I also have some of the Yokai Watch games, but also the PAL versions which don't seem to be that valuable.

Its not often I actually have games on the 'most expensive list' but I do own Rhythm Thief and Layton vs. Ace Attorney. I believe both of them are sealed as well.

Nice! Hopefully they re-release the Layton games on the Switch. Surprised they haven't already

10 Video Game Sequels That Saved Their Franchise

Video game sequels like Assassin's Creed Origins, Doom (2016), and Fire Emblem Awakening were just what these franchises needed to be revitalized.

Immagaiden375d ago

Lmao what’s Halo Infinite doing on this list?

Who would ever say Halo Infinite saved the Halo franchise

SullysCigar374d ago

Thought the same - very bizarre!

RE7 though... my God, what a shift over RE6! That franchise was definitely going in the wrong direction, so RE7 was a welcome return to form.

ModsDoBetter374d ago

Resi 6 was and still is the worst entry in the series.
7 was a great turnaround, despite people’s concerned about the switch to FP perspective.

DMC5 definitely helped the franchise after the whole DmC debacle. Whilst it was a decent action game, it was a far cry from the series and the characters we knew.

AC Origins is my favourite in the entire AC series. Despite the switch to a more RPG style of gameplay - the setting, soundtrack, length, etc were all amazing. sadly followed up by the ridiculously long and “more of the same” Odsyssey.

I don’t feel it’s fair to say the franchise slipped with Doom 3, Doom 3 was incredibly atmospheric and took the game in a different direction but there’s no denying Doom (2016) was sensational.

Halo 4 & 5 were disappointing but Halo Infinite definitely didn’t save the franchise? What?

I'm going to have to go with SMB 3. I was around when SMB 2 first came out and people hated it. 3 is still arguably the best mario game created.

"Halo Infinite"? Worse Halo ever. Whoever made this list just lost all credibility.

Hofstaderman374d ago

In future lists of a similar nature I have a suspicion Final Fantasy XVI will feature.
