The Division Review Of The First 8 Hours (PS4) - ThisGenGaming

ThisGenGaming says "The servers for The Division went live around 16 hours ago, and so far we’ve managed to put in a solid 8 hours for our first “day” on the game. As there is no review embargo along with reviews not going live until sometime later this week/early next week, we felt like it was fair to share our thoughts before the official release date. Please note this is not our final review of the game."

Servers only just came on like 2 hours ago?!

Naughty_Cloud2979d ago

I saw many youtube gamers, playing the game early in the morning like 8-10 hrs ago. The servers have been up for awhile now.

We had access when the servers went live on Monday.

I've been playing since about 1 AM EST. It's pretty good from what I've played so far, which is only about 4-5 hours. A few missions and side-missions, taking my time with everything though and not trying to rush through it because I tend to search around to find extra items in most games, especially RPGs.

But yeah, at first the servers didn't work for me. Then after about 20 minutes of trying I got on and didn't have any problems the rest of the night.

Same here but booted up at 12:01 and it only took a few mins basically 2 restart then i was on i clocked in a lil over 3hrs game time with no problems at all wud have still be on it if i didnt have to work later today.

I got to the end then saw this travesty:

"but so far The Division isn’t going to be known as one of the great games of 2016, but it’s certainty not a bad game at all. Although the review may seem negative, I’m really having a lot of fun with The Division. It’s just that the game is being held back by it’s flaws, but one that’s still very enjoyable."

ughh did no one proof read this?

I'm sure it was...by someone with the same writing ability as the "author".

"I actually didn’t play as many missions in multiplayer than I did in single player, but I played enough to know that as expected multiplayer is going to be more fun than playing the game alone. The servers seem to be working fine too as I was never kicked from a game and I connected to other games quite quickly too."

Looks like it was written by an 8th grader on his iPhone.

These sites are generally run by kids who wouldn't pass muster for a high school student paper. N4G has no standards.

Can we please get an aim assist off option?
Also some not so stereotypical hairdos for each race... :) Other than that, so far so good.

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno391d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic391d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman391d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

Dagexon391d ago

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
