Celebrating PS Vita's fourth birthday: PS Vita's best games

We at GamersFTW certainly have a soft spot for the little handheld, and to celebrates its fourth birthday we have compiled a list of our favourite titles available on PS Vita."

The Vita really is a great piece of kit with a great library. I still feel slightly guilty that I never picked one up, but just could never quite bring myself to. Don't know why.

I am tempted to give the PSVita a go at some point. The main thing holding me back is actually my love of the PSP and how many games I have yet to play on it. It has to be my favourite portable console.

Vita can play loads of PSP games!! You should get one.. super cheap second hand :p

Hotline Miami is such a brilliant game.. agree it's right at home on Vita, same as Shovel Knight. Vita is an indie station, and I love it for that.

Freedom Wars is a quality game, no doubt. I'll also give a shout out to Killzone Mercenary and Tearaway in regards to first part stuff.. but Vitas strong point has always been it's Indie stuff.. and in a way those are the games better suited to handheld gaming anyway.

I feel like the Vita is the DC reborn. Born into a great lineage, when the next child (PS4) was born. The parents forgot all about it, and put all their attention, love and care to their second born. Or something like that.

Basically after the PS4 was released. Sony devoted all their attention to it. Before that, they did a pretty decent job.

Lots to love about the Vita! I use remote play all the time and am currently carrying it around to play Crypt of the Necrodancer and Helldivers. Played the hell out of Hotline Miami as well. Persona 4 Golden is residing in my PSTV, since my partner and I play that together; otherwise I'd be carrying that around too.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is one of my personal favourites, the game itself is solid and if you're a fan of the SAO universe you'll obviously appreciate it more. Where Hollow Fragment really stands out though is in the translation, which is so god awful it actually crosses into the realm of unintentional comedy.
Here is a line of dialogue from the game:
"Asuna:
Kirito...
Haven't you been penetrating?"
Like I said it's not a bad game and the dialogue is easy to follow but just takes a bit of extra effort.

Danganronpa 1&2, Persona 4 Gold, Steins;Gate, Y's , Swort Art Online LostSong and Hollow Fragment and many other jrpgs, dungeon crawlers, Toukiden, Freedom Wars , Soul Sacrifice, Raymans . I love my vita and bought a 2000 blue to add to my original . The battery life on the 2000 is amazing

Persona 4 Golden is my personal favorite Vita game. Glad it made the list. I don't think I've seen a "top Vita games" list that doesn't mention Persona 4 Golden (unless of course it's genre-specific).

Other than that, Freedom Wars and Hotline Miami are awesome games themselves.
