Game Under Podcast Episode 85

In Episode 85 of the Game Under Podcast Phil Fogg goes it alone...

And insane...

Confounding Super Metroid, Metroid III and Metroid Fusion (is there actually any difference?), reading aloud Ape Escape reviews (crappy dialogue: post-modern self-commentary, first by the author and then by the orator?) and sampling the absent Tom Towers.

Not to mention his first impressions of the Xbox One: how hard is it to chew?

P.S. Where in the world is Carmen Michonne?

Yeah, this show is as post-modern as it gets. It will be evidence in university courses one day.

PS Plus' Japanese PS1 Classics on the PS4 & PS5 are NTSC Versions

If you're in Japan... unfortunately most of us are in the US or Europe.

Unfortunately it looks like this still won't be the case for the US: https://twitter.com/the_mar...

The reason the JP one is NTSC is because it's the only version of the original which has Japanese localization. Other NTSC regions are still getting PAL games.

Still time for Sony to correct this ahead of the US launch though - keep up the pressure.

Christopher695d ago

I'll wait and see since the primary reason for other regions is the language support. The U.S. doesn't need the same language support as other regions. You could be right, but it's a wait-and-see game.

Orchard695d ago

Agreed. It's a wait and see game at this point. US could go either way, Europe is likely stuck with PAL, at least outside of the UK (although I assume Sony will blast the same version to all European stores).

I think he's basing his assumption on the US around the fact that in Asian regions where PS+ has launched where titles were not localized and were provided in English, they have defaulted to the PAL version. But one would assume that NTSC is the 'native' version for North America.

To be honest, it would be nice if they would just upload multiple versions & let us download the version we want. It's weird that this is even a problem. Also, for Europe, plenty of Europeans are good enough or fluent in English and may not care about localization, especially if it means sacrificing performance/responsiveness.

Unless Sony themselves (not a twitter user with 400 followers) confirm PAL versions for NA, then there is nothing to correct and no need to keep up any pressure. Premature outrage is a bad look.

Its contstant and annoying. Its litterly killing gaming for me and I think thats the intended effect.
