Far Cry Primal is good, but Ubisoft should be careful about where Far Cry goes from here

Joe from GamersFTW writes: "So it seems that the Far Cry series has decided that the best way forward is to take things back- thousands and thousands of years back, in fact, to the dawn of man. With this instalment, we’re not being taken to a tropical paradise or a mountainous settlement that have been corrupted and torn apart by man’s insatiable lust for power; instead, we’re taken to the prehistoric plains where man first discovered his insatiable lust for power, and then went on to be corrupted by it."

IT's by far, the worst FC game ever released. Why? WHere are the amazing guns, gadgets, vehicles, traps, co-op, islands etc?

-Foxtrot3010d ago

Exactly. Basically what makes Far Cry...Far Cry.

It's like having a Resistance game and go "You know what lets not have those whacky over the top guns, lets make it about survival and give the player only daggers, an old pistol and a bow and arrow"

With weapons and vehicles I came up with so many ways to raid outposts.

Ubisoft should have added onto the games, not go backwards which seems more like a new IP

I mean I like Far Cry but I always felt they lacked in guns and vehicles. Air vehicles and under water vehicles should have been added while the guns should have came up with some new ones.

This should've been a dlc tbh

ginsunuva3010d ago

Then it would feel like an even more exact rehash and it would suck even more cause then it'd literally be a reskin.

The whole no-guns is a great idea, but they could have made more variety.

alexgibson3010d ago

I thought exactly the same after watching game play footage. It looks decent enough, but Ubisoft need to respect the franchise. They should take more of a break between releases.

Thefreeman0123010d ago

If they knew they were making a melee combat only game, you think they'd have refined the combat to parry, Dodge and have different types of attacks

darthv723010d ago

They should take it into the future. In a galaxy far far cry away.

_LarZen_3010d ago

No! They need to continue to try new things. And never ever listen to the people who just wants the same and cry because there is no freaking gun in the game.

Played and enjoyed Far Cry, Far Cry 3 and 4 campaigns .

4 wasn’t so bad

Pagan Min was pretty entertaining

Skuletor67d ago

Yeah, 4 was good, was hard choosing which Golden Dawn member to side with, when they were both pieces of sh!t.
I've beaten all the main entries except 2 and 6, ended up uninstalling 6 to download something else instead.

I'd love a far cry pack with the original PC game (not the half assed port on ps360) instincts, predator even a port of far cry 2 to modern consoles back when these games had their own identity and weren't far cry 3 cut and pastel

Demetrius67d ago

Still one of my most favorite franchises along with assassins creed

banger8867d ago (Edited 67d ago )

Same here, I don't know why these games get so much hate. I've thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them, with only a couple of exceptions. I wish they'd hurry up and announce Far Cry 7. The only thing I'm concerned about is the rumoured time limit.
