4 Games I Really Just Play for the Music

Sometimes the best thing about a game is its music. Even if the game itself is well-made and gripping, a solid soundtrack can be what initially pulls a gamer to it and makes him or her stick around. This is a list of games that I either don’t enjoy, slightly enjoy or didn’t want to play at first, but the music pulled me in and kept me there.

Let it first be known that this list is dominated by rock-inspired compositions. That does not in any way mean I don’t enjoy other styles of music. I’m amazed by Destiny’s powerful, symphonic scores, Skyrim’s Nordic themes and Dark Souls’ range of beautiful, creepy and epic pieces. When it comes to video games, hard rock and speed metal is not really what I expect. So when it happens and it fits, I get really excited about it, and I grow attached.

For me the music is secondary to the enjoyable gameplay. I'd rather download the music and listen to it whenever I want.

Undertale: One Of The Greatest Indie Stories Ever Told

Amidst choices between pacifism and genocidal tendencies, Undertale goes truly beyond in terms if story-telling, and the line between what is considered "right."

One of the most touching and beautiful told story with a great cast of characters and excellent soundtrack. I highly enjoyed my playthrough of the game very much. It's a darn shame, not many people know about it or even give it a chance just because of the way the game visually looks.

Great game, highly recommend.. it is true that at the beginning it doesn't look appealing, but once you get into it..it is amazing

F-Zero 99 is Peak Nintendo, But Not the F-Zero We Wanted

F-Zero 99 is a fantastic new way to play the franchise, but it falls far short of a new game built for modern hardware.

PRIMORDUS235d ago (Edited 235d ago )

I would have loved a F-Zero GX remake, not remaster, or a brand new F-Zero game.😞

Agent75235d ago

The problems with that are it'd probably weigh in at a full price game and it wouldn't include the AX tracks that are weirdly in the GameCube version but can't be accessed.

PRIMORDUS234d ago (Edited 234d ago )

Actually I thihk you can get the AX tracks but it's really hard to do it. https://www.reddit.com/r/Ga...
But I think you might still need to find the arcade of AX, that would be nearly impossible today. There is hope, there is a rom hack for the GC rom that has all the AX tracks in there. 😁 Just search for: F-Zero AX Direct Boot

This. Why Nintendo won’t fan service us with this and give Wave Race the same treatment is beyond me. Switch 2 launch games would sell them out of consoles, but we’ll prolly just get another Mario because they figure that’s enough. Sadly, they are correct.

If you want more F-Zero, make sure to give this one some love then.

Was Tetris 99 a new game built for modern hardware? What about Mario 99?

Does this person not know that Fzero 99 is built on the SNES title? Were they actually expecting a brand new Fzero game? hahahahaha
Also, what's with all of the spammy ass tags?
