Happy Valentine’s Day to the Most Romantic Character Ever, Mario

Dana Abercrombie from The Koalition writes:

"Valentine’s Day, the one time a year where partners come together to express their love for each other (screw the other 364 days). It’s a time where we are truly appreciative of that person who loves us through thick and thin, sickness and health, arguments, and threats of violence.

However, there’s one man who is never truly appreciated by his significant other; a man who risks life and death constantly to save his true love: Mario."

Considering sequence breaking to do bosses out-of-order, and the open-ended nature of the game in and of itself, I don't think there really is a "first level" to Super Metroid.
It's just one gigantic "level" split up into different "regions".

That's just my opinion, though, and it does bring up an interesting point of debate, as to whether or not games like Metroid can be considered to have levels.

Anyone else wanna weigh in on this one?
Sounds like we might actually have something interesting on our hands here.^_^

You get an up-vote for bringing up an interesting topic, however unintentionally.

I think the first level of Mario would have been less of a success without that fantastic Star Man mid-way through the stage.
The song from that little item made me want to run faster far more than any song from Sonic ever has.XD
