The Witness review – the Dark Souls of puzzle games | Gamepressure

Colorful graphics, couple of hundred of riddles, narration through environment, and, at times, extremely high level of difficulty is the Braid's author's recipe for the perfect logic game. But such a meal my not be digestible for every player.

Can anyone please help me decide if it is worth getting? My GF likes puzzle games, is relatively smart, is great at strategy games, etc... But hates Dark Souls because of it's difficulty. Will she be totally repulsed by The Witness? It's a birthday gift for ps4 and want perspective of those who own it, please.

Yes you should buy that for her. I think it would make a nice gift if she is in to puzzle games. It is also incredibly beautiful visually too. It can be quite challenging as well as a good puzzle game should be of coarse. I say go for it.

It's one of the best puzzle games I've ever played in my 34 years. If she comes across a puzzle that is really hard, then she can just go somewhere else on the huge island and do some other puzzles. She can learn more and come back to it. You don't really get 'stuck' and can't go any further until you beat the puzzle, you can explore the island and go to different sections. All the information is there. The game is amazing and I believe she'll love it.

Why? Also, she likes keeping notes when playing. She beat Persona 4 on hard in her first playthrough simply because she kept a notebook to keep track of social link schedules and persona fusions. She's very organized.
