IMO TPS shooters plays better on consoles , even if PC have controllers like the consoles .

gameseveryday3043d ago

The point here is not about "controllers", the point here is about performance.

alti3043d ago

he's saying it's strange to add such effort to a platform with controls that aren't primed for the game's genre.

dantesparda3043d ago

The graphics may be the same on the two consoles but the PS4 version has a better framerate. X1 has long sustained drops during online.

acekaze3043d ago

I am confused, if I am using an xbox or playstation controller on the pc, why does it "play" better on consoles? Is it because the 30fps with the "cinematic" feeling? You lost me with that comment please do explain.

glassgannon9093043d ago (Edited 3043d ago )

normally its because of input lag being generally higher due to the externally connected non native controller and the fps being tied to animations in certain cases, which can cause massively jarring slowdowns not present in a game running at 30fps on console ,also this being an online only game ,(shooters generally being online heavy) it really matter which platform has the highest number of users , which most certainly isnt pc

Kenshin_BATT0USAI3043d ago

@Glassgannon, that's not how it works at all.

jcc7373043d ago

And yet, the consoles versions will sell 10 times more.

JunMei3043d ago

Wait. What? How does that make sense? If a PC gamer is literally using a PS4 or Xbone controller, and runs and looks better, how then is it /still/ better on console??? Wow console-only gamers are delusional.

sephiroth4203043d ago

retards everywhere mate, just look at some of these comments haha.

tee_bag2423042d ago (Edited 3042d ago )

You have to put fanboy goggles on first. Then you can see how. That's worthy of a screenshot.

kupomogli3042d ago (Edited 3042d ago )

@JunMei

Most PC gamers are delusional when they can't play the games above console specs anyways. They just talk about how much better PC performance is.

My PC is more powerful than the PS4 and Xbox One combined, and I do like the performance better, but I actually like to collect games, so most of the time I don't purchase for PC. If I do purchase for PC, it's never more than $5 a few years after it was released. I really want to play XCOM 2 when it releases, but I'm holding out for a console version with poor performance so I can actually hold the game in my hand.

reallyNow3042d ago

because nobody plays games on PC anymore. its a dying and useless platform.

JunMei3042d ago (Edited 3042d ago )

I think the people who disagreed with me misunderstood the point I was making. Which is this:

If one version is literally better in every way, and even uses the same input method, it is literally stupid to say the version that runs worse, and looks worse, but controls the same, is better.

I'm not making a statement about consoles being bad just because of their hardware, under-powered as they may be, I am simply stating the stupidity in that argument. The most important thing in gaming is gaming, not hardware.

That said, it is too bad that so many "gamers" push away PC gaming because they lack the confidence in their ability to take it on. So, rather than take it on, they just insult the entire PC gaming community because.... well... does anyone know the story of the fox and the grapes from Aesop's fables? Because of that.

Spoonsx3043d ago

@Trywizardo What you said makes absolutely no sense. We are all dumber now for reading that. Thanks a lot.

kraenk123043d ago (Edited 3043d ago )

That doesn't even make sense. Guess I'm not the only one who noted that. Do you even...?!

Well in any case I preordered on Xbox One because of the early dlc deal, just as how I preordered destiny on ps4 back when that launched

gameseveryday3043d ago

Console versions are good. This is great given the open world nature of The Division.

FlameBaitGod3043d ago

It still looks really freaking good. I don't know if they held back some textures for the beta but for now it looks awesome.

specialguest3042d ago

Look at those graphics setting options. You get to pick and chose how you want your game to perform and look. That's why I prefer multiplatform games on PC.

_LarZen_3043d ago

Been testing it on both PS4 and PC. And it's great on both. But the sharpness and boost in colors and framerate on PC is really making The Division shine that much brighter.

And there is inputlag on the PS4 version that is non existing on PC.

glassgannon9093043d ago

sharpness can be boosted on ps4 via the options, not challenging your opinion, just letting you know. also chromatic aberration can be turned off.
imo , the best experience is with brightness slightly lowered to the 35% mark, ca off and sharpness at 70.
also, for the record , i dont notice any input lag. could be the internet connection(even if its the same on either),
but thats just simply lag

JunMei3043d ago

I wonder if the input lag is just your display, I've never heard of a console game having input lag before. Check your display settings. Make sure it's in game mode, or at least that motion interpolation is turned off when you play games.

TKCMuzzer3043d ago (Edited 3043d ago )

Input lag? you're the first to mention it and I certainly haven't noticed it.

I press fire on my controller and the gun fires. There is a bit of lag when I shoot a car tyre but I think that is general lag as it's an online world.

ironmonkey3043d ago

yea but i still expected way more on pc than just shiney shadows and smoke effects and its a 3 year old . the consoles run at 30 fps without any issues at all where amd user on pc and nvidia users are experiencing freezing and artifacts on screen. i have a 980 ti and an r9 fury x on rigs and the ti does run better while im still waiting on an amd update driver.

FlameBaitGod3043d ago (Edited 3043d ago )

lol you make it sound like a lot of PC gamer's are having those issues yet I had none of those and I didn't see anyone in the darkzone disconnect even once or complain about them when we gathered, plus the game looks so much better than consoles. I think you card is broken if you see slight differences.

kraenk123043d ago

The old AMD problem again. Why are you even surprised?!

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

shinoff2183418d ago

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

-Foxtrot417d ago

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno417d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic417d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman417d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

Dagexon417d ago

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
