February's PS Plus games are Helldivers & Nom Nom Galaxy on PS4

PS4 games Helldivers and Nom Nom Galaxy will be available to download for free on PlayStation Plus next month, Sony has announced.

The two games are listed under the PlayStation Plus tab on the PS4 home screen, although it isn't yet clear which games they'll be joined by on PS3 and PS Vita. Expect an official announcement soon.

UPDATE: Sony has formally announced the full line-up of February's PS Plus titles, confirming that Helldivers and Nom Nom Galaxy will be available on PS4 along with cross-play puzzler Nova 111 and PS3 racer Grid Autosport.

Lemmings Touch will also be available on PS Vita, with fighting game Persona 4 Arena Ultimax downloadable on PS3. Here's the full list:

This is a good list of games for PSN+, especially Helldivers. Hoping Sony will step up their game in offerings from this point on because PSN+ has been lackluster for the past two years since the PS4 launched. There's like only 5 games tops I would bother playing from PSN+ this generation. I originally subscribed to PSN+ for the games, not for online gaming.

HellDivers is a pretty good game. Great co-op action, decent graphics and sound. The only knock against it is it can sometimes get repetitive. Other then that, it's definitely worth a download; even moreso now since it's free. I bought it Day One as this game, RIME and No Man's Sky were the 3 Indie games I thought were must haves. Enjoy.

Didn't realize the controls and aiming would suck.

Came out for pc which is now where I wish I had bought it as aiming would not be an issue and the controls would be mmuch better.

Grindy is what makes 1/2 the games out there enjoyable. Borderlands, RPGs, Destiny, mp shooters, racing games, mmos, sports games u name it. Embrace the grind homie.

Helldivers is rewarding though.

Likewise, I'm hoping killzone comes to PS+ at some point just to boost the number of players online across all modes.

I loved killzone but still need to get my platinum and if friends get it for free when I already have it then I'm still getting something out of it.

They're so cheap now it doesn't even matter. I bought both for 20 a piece eight months ago. Hopefully when another triple AAA comes to plus it'll be something better than killzone. It's no killzone 2; I'll just say that. Honestly though games like Infamous are worth a buy at launch for the quality and the support of a great developer.

I was happy to support the development of this game...However, I agree with the disappointment part. It's another game that forces you to play with friends to get the full experience. Decent game for about 10-15 hours then it just loses it to me. Again, just an opinion, but if you don't have friends to play this with it's just not that good.

I have friends to play it with, but my time is extremely limited with school and work so I like to play solo quite a bit when I can. Not knocking the multiplayer, I'm saying the single player experience is bare bones.

Helldivers is 1 of the best mp shooters around. It's an 84 on Metacritic atm and i can attest to its awesomeness. It's packed with content now, trophies as well. I'm sore that i recently bought it and now it's free, but i'm glad others will get to experience the inter-galactic bad-assery.

I bought the disk based version from gamestop on a christmas sale for 15 bux a month ago. Even after this announcement getting all the dlc for 15 bux was a steal. No regrets. Looking forward to spreading some democracy with the rest of PS nation.

Hoping the Vita gets a good RPG for once, and something else, maybe a Visual Novel. Helldivers as cross-buy (I read that it is a cross-buy game so it should) would be nice as well.

my PS+ is up sometime mid-February, so this will determine if I keep it or not. It's been a real letdown lately.

Helldivers WILL be free on Vita and PS3 also, it's noted for being crossbuy. So ur getting 3 versions which is awesome. Tbh, Vita has done well recently with Freedom Wars, Rocket Birds, Geometry Wars 3, and even Nihilumbra. Games like STFU, Xeodrifter, and many more have been crossbuy and playable on Vita.

I've been pleased with PS Plus actually, even Grim Fandango, Freedom Wars, TWD 2, Gauntlet, Magicka 2, Dragon Age, Beyond Good and Evil, Medal of Honor, Yakuza 4, Castle Storm, Super Time Force, Broken Age, Hard Boiled Chicken, SSX, and Rocket League. I think that's solid quality right there.

Already had Freedom Wars for $5 (and it's funny that the game went on sale at GameStop for that price as well) and bought Rocket Birds full price without even playing it yet...same for Nihilumbra (but I beat that). Xeodrifter was fun but Geo Wars 3 and STFU are terrible IMO.

I'm not saying PS+ has been absolute garbage but a letdown, just for me personally. No RPGs, Visual Novels, or basically anything that's not a Platformer or Shooter of some type. Also, I only use Vita and Nintendo so I'm not getting full bang for my buck either.

Despite it stupid name, Nom Nom Galaxy is actually pretty great too. It's a pixeljunk game. I've been playing the game pretty obsessively with my girlfriend. Sucks that I own both games already, but it's definitely the best month in awhile.

Nevertheless, I enjoy indies like Transistor, CounterSpy, The Swapper and Never Alone. I want a AAA title (PS4) at least every month, however.

We have games like Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Alien: Isolation, The Evil Within and so on. Why don't give us one of them every single month? WHYYYYYYY? :'(

The main incentive to sign up for PS+ has shifted from the IGC to online multiplayer. As such, they're getting a TON of new people signing up and don't have to put as much effort into the IGC. It's not like all the people that signed up back in the PS3 days will drop their sub because of the downgraded IGC (relative I know), I'd a wager a very many of them will stayed signed up for multiplayer.
I'm sure they calculated that number of people they expect to let their subscription run out is dwarfed by those staying on combined with new subs.

Yes and I believe the same holds true for first party titles if memory serves.

I've found some gems with PS+ as I don't mind indies. My main gripe is that I've noticed I'm far less likely to enjoy the indie titles they pick out, where as when they were doing AAA games, the "I like this" ratio was much higher. If it's a transistor or outlast, I'm happy. But most of titles we've gotten I'll probably never touch.

My sub is up in April and I won't re-up. I'll just buy the indies that interest me. Or maybe sign up for indie box for my PC instead.

It had a PS+ discount at launch, which I think you probably already new and maybe were trying to get a reaction.
If a game is good then it deserves to be played, I imagine when they do put a AAA game on there and it's not the one a lot of people want there will be moaning about that aswell.

Never point out bubbles, it means nothing and can be manipulated. Just one question, do you expect to get rewarded for every subscription service you have or just with Sony/Microsoft? I ask as you are not the first to mention it but no one seems to go on about cable companies or ISP companies or netflix and others rewarding them for being a loyal customer. It's just interesting how the video game industry is viewed and how people expect more even though the PS+ yearly subscription price has been the same (in the UK) since launch, unlike other subscription services.
