I was so close to buying this game a few weeks ago but couldn't pull the trigger. My instincts did me good.

Geobros3042d ago (Edited 3042d ago )

Its still a rumor but maybe is true as this is in the banner of the PS Plus tab on PS4.

Edit: Rumor just confirmed and added the games of the other sony consoles.

JMaine5183042d ago

True. Would be awesome if this rumor was real.

nix3042d ago

Jmaine.. Now you can literally pull the trigger... q:

OT: great news... I'll be downloading this for sure...

Bansai3042d ago

Gonna dive into Helldivers for sho.

Rayven3042d ago

Yeah. I actually like what ps+ has in store this coming Feb. Watched a gameplay video of Helldivers, looks fun. I just hope this has better online multiplayer performance than rocket league.

dirkdady3042d ago

Helldivers! Another great online co-op romp.

magiciandude3042d ago

From article

UPDATE: Sony has formally announced the full line-up of February's PS Plus titles, confirming that Helldivers and Nom Nom Galaxy will be available on PS4 along with cross-play puzzler Nova 111 and PS3 racer Grid Autosport.

Lemmings Touch will also be available on PS Vita, with fighting game Persona 4 Arena Ultimax downloadable on PS3. Here's the full list:

Helldivers (PS4/PS3/PS Vita)
Nom Nom Galaxy (PS4)
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax (PS3)
Grid Autosport (PS3)
Lemmings Touch (PS Vita)
Nova 111 (PS4/PS3/PS Vita)

All six games will be available from next Tuesday, February 2.

magiciandude3042d ago

This is a good list of games for PSN+, especially Helldivers. Hoping Sony will step up their game in offerings from this point on because PSN+ has been lackluster for the past two years since the PS4 launched. There's like only 5 games tops I would bother playing from PSN+ this generation. I originally subscribed to PSN+ for the games, not for online gaming.

That's a good a feeling as waking up on a Saturday thinking you had school!

VerminSC3042d ago

Same here! I just couldn't convince my brothers. So glad I waited

FITgamer3042d ago

Same here. Glad I waited. I've really wanted to play Helldivers. Personally I'm happy with this months games.

Morgue3042d ago

I wasn't about to sit around all these months and wait too see if Helldivers was gonna free so I bought it day one.

XanderZane3042d ago

HellDivers is a pretty good game. Great co-op action, decent graphics and sound. The only knock against it is it can sometimes get repetitive. Other then that, it's definitely worth a download; even moreso now since it's free. I bought it Day One as this game, RIME and No Man's Sky were the 3 Indie games I thought were must haves. Enjoy.

nunley333042d ago

I'll be playing these two plus Gravity Rush Remastered I preordered. I was considering buying these before and I have the other pixel junk games so this is a good month for me.

UKmilitia3042d ago

me too, almost bought it at xmas.
so glad i didnt

ZaWarudo3042d ago

Wow, and i wasted money on Helldivers on December. Smh, what a disappointment.

RAM0N 3042d ago

I dont think supporting indie developers is a waste of money if the game is good

I also bought the gane

ZaWarudo3042d ago (Edited 3042d ago )

I meant the game is disappointing, Helldivers sucks.

DDMNeo3042d ago

Individual tastes may vary, or just be poor. Just don't be a wryyy baby about it.

In all seriousness I liked the game, but not every game is for everyone. Sorry you didn't like it.

IamTylerDurden13042d ago

I bought Helldivers a few months ago and it's the best game Arrowheads ever made. Phenomenal game.

IamTylerDurden13042d ago

You're in the minority Warudo bc Helldivers is praised as a fantastic game by critics and fans alike. It has superb ratings and its sold exceptionally well.

XanderZane3042d ago

Very true. You aren't lying. It's worth owning. I wasn't disappointed with my Day One purchase. I'm just pissed that I haven't had more time to go back and play it some more. I love that it's not an easy game and you need some strategy and team work to get through each campaign.

Dark_Crow3042d ago

Yea I bought it for the co op.
Didn't realize the controls and aiming would suck.

Came out for pc which is now where I wish I had bought it as aiming would not be an issue and the controls would be mmuch better.

ZaWarudo3042d ago

My problem was how grindy and unrewarding it was, and really repetitive.

Dark_Crow3042d ago

@zawarudo

Couldn't play it omg enough to encounter that problem. I rather enjoy the salty disagrees we are getting.

IamTylerDurden13041d ago

Tastes.

Grindy is what makes 1/2 the games out there enjoyable. Borderlands, RPGs, Destiny, mp shooters, racing games, mmos, sports games u name it. Embrace the grind homie.

Helldivers is rewarding though.

ZeroX98763042d ago (Edited 3042d ago )

@ZaWarudo

You know what? I bought both Helldivers AND Nom Nom Galaxy already, but I'm glad they're February free PS plus game since I'll have more friends to play with online. :)

I freaking love helldivers, it's a great top down shooter!

MoonConquistador3042d ago

That's a fantastic attitude Zero and so refreshing to see.

Likewise, I'm hoping killzone comes to PS+ at some point just to boost the number of players online across all modes.

I loved killzone but still need to get my platinum and if friends get it for free when I already have it then I'm still getting something out of it.

Great month for PS+ too.

NeckBeardBSMTDweller3042d ago

It is a waste, because now Sony foots the bill for any download rather than you or I. I dont buy any indie / arcade games for this reason. Killzone should have been free in Q4 last year, and Infamous by now. WTF are they waiting for.

pivotplease3042d ago

They're so cheap now it doesn't even matter. I bought both for 20 a piece eight months ago. Hopefully when another triple AAA comes to plus it'll be something better than killzone. It's no killzone 2; I'll just say that. Honestly though games like Infamous are worth a buy at launch for the quality and the support of a great developer.

FunAndGun3042d ago

I would rather have indie games I never tried over AAA games I already own. If you are still waiting to play Killzone on your Plus membership, you are doing it wrong.

cash_longfellow3042d ago

I was happy to support the development of this game...However, I agree with the disappointment part. It's another game that forces you to play with friends to get the full experience. Decent game for about 10-15 hours then it just loses it to me. Again, just an opinion, but if you don't have friends to play this with it's just not that good.

TwoForce3042d ago

Seriously, Helldivers is awesome top down shooter.

cash_longfellow3040d ago

I have friends to play it with, but my time is extremely limited with school and work so I like to play solo quite a bit when I can. Not knocking the multiplayer, I'm saying the single player experience is bare bones.

kraenk123040d ago

@cash_longfellow

I agree...but I didn't answer to you, I answered to ZaWarudo who wasn't as polite as you in trashing the game.

kaizokuspy3042d ago

@zaWarudo

Do you not research a game before you buy it? I mean, to get that butthurt over $20 or less, not look up any review on it or gameplay at this day and age before purchase, especially since it's been out almost a year.....it sounds like a consumer being idiotic with their money. Sour grapes Mr man, sour grapes

lociefer3042d ago

i always wanted to buy helldivers , its been getting some real good reviews, glad i waited

IamTylerDurden13042d ago (Edited 3042d ago )

Helldivers is 1 of the best mp shooters around. It's an 84 on Metacritic atm and i can attest to its awesomeness. It's packed with content now, trophies as well. I'm sore that i recently bought it and now it's free, but i'm glad others will get to experience the inter-galactic bad-assery.

jeromeface3042d ago

I bought the disk based version from gamestop on a christmas sale for 15 bux a month ago. Even after this announcement getting all the dlc for 15 bux was a steal. No regrets. Looking forward to spreading some democracy with the rest of PS nation.

ExPresident3042d ago

HellDivers is an awesome game. Glad more people will get to try it now.

Vita's 10 Best Online Games

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "Competing with other players online is ingrained into the gaming ecosystem these days, with every hardware manufacturer (even the previously resistant Nintendo) offering ways to connect to others over the internet to engage in multiplayer. Ever since SEGA blazed a trail with their gone-too-soon Dreamcast and titles such as Chu Chu Rocket and Phantasy Star Online, the console landscape changed towards embracing the internet – solidified further by Microsoft’s Xbox initiative in 2001.

On handhelds, inroads into online gaming were slower, but with the advent of Sony’s PSP in 2005 that changed again and suddenly portable experiences were offered that could also connect with other players across the world. This was refined further with their next-generation handheld the PlayStation Vita, which offered improvements like easily accessible friends lists, system-based party chat, alongside some of the best portable online games that were available at the time of its release."

Killzone Mercenary has spectacular gameplay and great mp. Underrated game.

Helldivers was pretty awesome to have on Vita.

NFS MW worked well on Vita.

NecrumOddBoy1855d ago

Killzone Mercenary is not only a phenomenal KZ, it has the best integrated system shared between the campaign and the online community. I wish more shooters were this incredible.
