I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream Released on Android and iOS

Carl Williams writes, "DotEmu are quickly becoming “that” video game company. You know the type. A company that does things that others are not and it is catering to the gamer that is ignored. Let’s face it, their ports to Android and iOS are not going to set the world on fire with sales records yet they continue to bring underdog releases to fans. Double Dragon and R-Type are both big names in their own right, 20+ years ago, but to modern gamers, they are just another app in the respective app stores. To fans though, those games still rock and are worth every penny. DotEmu have recently released another title, this time a really niche one, called I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream. Fans know this game while modern gamers are again probably clicking right on by to check out their next “clickfest” title. Too bad, it is their loss."

is this based off the short story?

maniacmayhem3018d ago

Indeed it is. And it is a very messed up story of a (i believe) a computer torturing a group of people, killing them and bringing them back to life just to do it over again.

This is as old school as it gets!

BlackTar1873018d ago

Thanks i thought the title sounded familar with a book by the author of Electronic sheep or whatever. I think i will be trying this out.

triverse3018d ago

Yes. This is covered in the news article there. Awesome game.

@BlackTar187: "Thanks i thought the title sounded familar with a book by the author of Electronic sheep or whatever. I think i will be trying this out."

I believe you are confusing Harlan Ellison with Phillip K. Dick. Phillip K. Dick is the author of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep which is what you were thinking of. That book is also the basis for the film Bladerunner just fyi. Amazing author as is Ellison. Ok I'll stop blabbering about awesome science fiction now.

I was confusing them. Thanks for the clarification.

Absolute embarrassment that all 4 of the first Silent Hill games didn't make the list. 2 is the best one but the other 3 are fantastic as well.
They also included 2 Bloober games and forgot Fatal Frame and PT. 🙄

Neonridr942d ago (Edited 942d ago )

PT isn't a game. As for the Silent Hill games, clearly they chose the best one for their list. I don't disagree that there are some questionable choices there though.

Magog942d ago

PT is a game and a better one than most of the games on that list. Just because they gave it away for free doesn't mean it isn't a game.

Neonridr941d ago

@Magog - it was a playable teaser. The entire thing could be beaten in like 5 minutes if you knew what to do. That's not a game. Yes, it was fantastic, but it was a glorified demo.

SinisterMister942d ago

Ooh I love me some psyche horror

BlackTar187942d ago

No Fatal Frame? Only 1 Silent Hill no Eternal Darkness?

Not a very good list

Gardenia941d ago

Silent Hill 1, 2 and 3 are all at the top of psychological horror games. I really want a new Silent Hill in the style of the old games, not like P.T.

Doki Doki Literature Club .. Also the definitive GOAT .. Silent Hill 2 also
