Won't run at all probably. Right now, even high end PC's are barely able to run VR, it would cost over a $800 PC to run Oculus.

I wouldn't worry. This article says even when the game is running terribly, the experience is still fun. So we can infer that even should the game not run properly, the experience is still going to be a good one. So I'm excited for it.

I need to pop back in and make sure my properties havent been destroyed by hooligans. Had some great positions for them, nice and hidden. Been so busy with Siege and ARK is a time investment

Yeah we get that, but it is pretty horrendous. When the framerate is not just dipping to, but actually sitting in the teens, thats not good, early demo or no. If you cant get better than that you shouldnt show it yet.

Why is it going higher sometimes? If youre not going to reach 60, LOCK it at 30 and concentrate on getting that steady at least.

But the worse thing is the screen tearing. Its pretty terrible. The worst I've seen this gen, but I dont play betas so maybe there has been worse. Still, it needs a lot of work.

I havent really been following this game, but is this the Ark thats coming to PSVR? VR needs real games, not just tech demos so Im hoping they improve this dramatically before it gets released.

I greatly disagree with you.

The game looks great. It's a combination of Minecraft and Jurassic Park and it's extremely addicting.

The worst thing about this game is the FPS. So many people forget...just like DF, that there is a living world beneath the water around the island that is filled with so many other types of swimming prehistoric creatures.

When riding a Megladon under water creates a serious drop in FPS, much lower than 14fps. It can be unplayable in some cases, but it's short lived and the fps start to come back up. It's amazing how much AI is going on in this game, the island and the sea are just filled with animals and creatures.

Game is brilliant and I am so happy that I am playing it NOW on the XB1 rather than waiting for it at a later date to come out.

Yes Bathyj, it's coming to PSVR. Hopefully, with it being 6 months from release, it will look and run a bit better by then.

I'm with you on this; surely giving people a bad experience early on will put some off rather than whet their appetite. It's a risky practice for the devs/pubs and I wouldn't want to ruin (for myself) what looks like it could be a good game when its finally finished.

It is PRE-ALPHA. One of the devs said more optimation to come. Not every game starts out with 1080/60fps. I honestly don't have a huge issue with the FR, only when the host player dies and doesn't respawn. This is far from a tech demo buddy. Best selling game on the Xbox store at the moment and it's a freaking pre-alpha. People love it. It will be incredible on VR

I like the premise, but I fail to see how a 640p game that dips to as low as 8fps (pre-patch) and 13fps (post patch) can be fun?

We Gamer's have let our standards slip. This game has no right to be deployed in its current state. Even in beta it's inexcusable. The standard for Console Quality Control has fallen to PC levels, which is understandable for lazily optimized unlicensed software on a Computer, but not Console.

Sadly, even Sony are going down this route of allowing gamer's (too) early access to unfinished games. Thank goodness Nintendo still care about Quality! /

Agreed. PCs as open platforms were built for this kind of Early Access thing. Like you mentioned, anyone can build and release PC software. On consoles - there is no place for these kinds of releases. Is this the future of how devs can get away with releasing poor games early, and bypass traditional quality control?

In regards to your comments about other companies: I'm unaware of what Sony is charging people for in regards to them being as unfinished games, at least more recently? They are doing beta trials, which has been normal practice for years.

The game looks fine, some of the framerate hitchin is pretty bad, like drops down to 5fps but it is early access, we should expect many improvements before official release. My biggest gripe with this game is it is such a grind.

Fun from my experience with the trial. I will wait and see if they get the server issue fixed before buying. The issue is that when you exit the server, the server has a high chance of being full on your next login and you will have to start over.

This game was terrible. I tried the preview and it explained nothing; was choppy and I had no clue WTF to do. The interface was clearly ported over via PC with little or no attempt to layer on Xbox UI...

Perhaps I didn't spend enough time with it. Perhaps it still needs a good bit of polish before it's truly "ready".

Not sure; but, I'm confident you need a good bit of time to sink your teeth into this one. Not something I'm willing to do at the moment.

Dayz Mod ran like crap and look at how popular it was, same with the base game ArmA2 which had a wasteland mode boom. It's highly possible for a game to run badly and be a very good game. Bloodborne for example runs like crap yet its a great game.

once again .. we are in alpha / beta testing phase. even alot of PC players with powerful rigs are having issues. 6 more months of optimization and improvements. the sheer amount of x1 downloads for this game is crazy considering its only in preview. and its not the case people are downloading and then not playing. people are putting stupid hours into this and well because ... its addictive and sooo much fun ! the progression system is one of the best out there with regards to unlocking different emgrams and trying to tame bigger and better dinos whilst trying to build your own fortress and protect yourself and your tribe from other dinos or players online. the world never stops. im pretty sure over time res and FPS will be bumped up and everything will be stable. only issue i have is you need to put alot of hours into it. and i mean alot. which currently i struggle with being able to do. this game is the one.

LOL. This game is in game preview. Why is not released as a full game yet? Because they are still working to improve and optimize it. Hence the framerate issues.

This is why I believe the Early Access philosophy should remain exclusive to PC.

You can get this game to run somewhat fine on an open platform. You have flexibility. On fixed and constrained hardware (i.e. consoles), the developers should wait until performance in up to par before releasing this as a product that gamers have absolutely ZERO control over. It should be a FREE beta on consoles until then.

$35 for a "preview" that looks and performs like this is unacceptable when you have no control over it for an unspecified amount of time, even if it is a discount compared to the final version.

I dont care how it looks (looks awesome by the way) but i downloaded the 1 hour trial and I have been hooked ever since. I play for hours and hours.... Its like Minecraft but for adults. Not that Minecraft is for little kids but this gane is intence. I was collecting wood at night, usin from my torch to spot a tree then then switching to the axe and cutting the tree down... Untill cut one tree and when I light the torch again I come face to face with a Trex! Never ran so fast in my life!!! 😂😂😂 Those kind of moments are the ones we play for.

That reminds me. I was out collecting wood,stone ect to build my base and I'm in one of the hardest areas mind you. I was chipping away at a rock and it disappeared and right behind it was a Rex. I looked at him and he looked at me. It was like one of the scene from Jurassic park. I ran my ass off towards my base, went down a small area and he went over me and landed down bellow not to far. He just nonchalantly just started to attack something else. Lol oh man that was close that time. Other times not so lucky. Expect to die... a lot. Love this game

I'm having a blast on this game. I even convinced two friends of mine who don't like minecraft or RPG elements to play the game with me. The game is very addicting and fun. Also the game is far from finished so I don't see how ppl can complain about it. I think the game looks good right now. I do get frustrated about the framerate but it has gotten better. Anyways grab this game if you can the free hour isn't enough
