Assetto Corsa console release date narrowed down to April

Assetto Corsa, Kunos Simulazioni's acclaimed driving simulator, will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this April, with both versions due to hit in Europe on April 22nd.

While code is yet to be finalised, at present Assetto Corsa is running at 1080p and 60fps on PlayStation 4, while the Xbox One version will be targeting 60fps and a resolution of 900p. Few compromises have been made for the new version, with the handling model intact and the only significant change being an all-new UI.

Boy i'm interested to see how this goes. I own the game on PC, and while it is absolutely undeniable how good the physics are with a proper wheel. The game plays like complete trash with a controller. Even with the settings tweaked to be as close to something like Forza or GT as possible, it is still far from being playable with it. IF they can nail it down to feel like either of those 2 games do with a controller, this should be quite a good experience on console.

How does AC square up against Project Cars? Whats the big difference between the two? from Youtube videos I havent seen much but maybe its the handling and physics

Kewel, have heard great things.... but really cant imagine it being more fun than Forza 6.

Allsystemgamer3021d ago

Assetto corza is as sim as it gets.

You hold forza too high.

user99502793021d ago

But I didn't say realistic, I said fun =)

Revvin3021d ago

Its undeniably better than Forza in terms of physics - I have both games and love Forza but I'm not sure the single player aspect will be as good as Forza. I hope gamers give this game a chance though.

user99502793021d ago

I never play single player anyways. Played maybe 1 single player race in forza 6.

Allsystemgamer3021d ago

And I said sim. Sims are usually not "fun" they're satisfying because they offer challenge in completing simple tasks that are actually hard in real life but hold no real world consequences such as death. Forza is fun but comparing it to assetto is like comparing battlefield to arma. Completely different game.

user99502793021d ago

not fun? that doesn't sound fun.

Allsystemgamer3021d ago

By not fun I mean in a traditional sense. Part of the reason forza is fun is because pulling off advanced maneuvers isn't very hard. In assetto you need to take all factors into account or you can crash. That's what makes it exhilarating. Like ARMA you don't get a lot of kills online but when you do manage to hit someone after firing about 100-200 shots it's very satisfying. That's where the fun comes from. Like a souls game. Learning how it works and executing it perfectly to bring it down to a traditional sense.

April? Good luck with that, many games are coming this month.

ABizzel13021d ago

Agreed that's a horrible month to release in.

XBO has Quantum Break at the beginning of the month
PS4 has Ratchet in the middle and Uncharted 4 at the end.

They would be much better off, moving it back to July / August.

And I just realized April is going to be a $200 month for me if not more, because Uncharted 4 will be the first limited edition / collector's edition I ever buy.

Cool.
Add PSVR2 support to ACC and I might play it.

ApocalypseShadow407d ago

Same. Good sales. But if they are smart, they'll release a VR update on console for PS VR 2. Get more sales. More money.

TheColbertinator407d ago

Impressive series and well known for being challenging

ChiefofLoliPolice407d ago

Jesus really? Damn I didn't know Assetto Corsa was that popular. Now that I look at the sales numbers and the sheer about of mods for the PC version I guess I can see it now.

Obscure_Observer407d ago

Really impressive numbers.

There´re more racing simulators fans out there than most racing games studios acknowledges.

Wish AC1 was at least one X enhanced but it's only sold a lot because of its price
