Waging War With Chickens – Rogue State Review – GIZORAMA

Michael Negron, GIZORAMA - "When looking at Rogue State conceptually, the first that comes to mind is “dictator simulator.” Even the game’s official trailer highlights the naughtier things it entails – developing a nuclear arsenal, assassinating foreign leaders, etc. – over more diplomatic options. While it is true that you control a Middle Eastern nation immediately following revolution, an excellent breeding ground for totalitarian government, that title is a little misleading. Review: Rogue State (Beta) - Be the dictator - Gaming Boulevard

The guys of Gaming Boulevard wrote a review of Rogue State and decided:

These decisions are all made in the office of your head of state, either by consulting flow charts (economics), or ordering around special projects and surveillance missions (intelligence). The fact that your character always performs a specific set of actions (opening books, picking up the phone,…) slows down the gameplay, but this flaw might be corrected when the final version is released. Another negative side to the game is that it might seem overwhelming in the beginning, and that you have to start over plenty of times before you can find the exact balance to keep your people, your political parties, and your government officials happy. The good thing, though, is that you will never experience the same thing twice, as plenty of events are randomly generated, and sometimes so absurd that I had a wide smile on my face. My head is still spinning. Taking decisions is hard!

Rogue State - PC Review | Chalgyr's Game Room

Chalgyr's Game Room writes:

Sometimes I think I would make a fantastic Empress of the World. Not a queen or a President, but an Empress. Then games like Rogue State come along and shatter those dreams by reminding me how dismal I am at running a country.
