Should Rockstar Games Remaster Grand Theft Auto IV on PS4 and Xbox One

I support every good game being remastered.

There are plenty of games I want to replay while looking better than ever, and GTA:IV (Complete Edition obviously) is one of them. Red Dead Redemption (Again, Complete with Undead Nightmare) is definitely another. I'd prefer they wait until next gen if they can't hit 1080p60 with them this gen though.

I liked GTA IV bc it wasn't AS cartoony as most of them. The tone in GTA is that of a joke, every character is a caricature. For once i'd like to see a GTA with good writing and realistic characters. This is why i liked GTA IV bc it was less goofy. Many of us were 14 when we started playing GTA, but we've grown up.

I've grown up but I absolutely don't want GTA to get more serious. I like the satire and the over exaggerated characters and I'm happy they went back to that with GTA V.

With IV everything was too serious, dark and too realistic. Especially the free roaming part was ruined for me because of the realistic driving, I like to do crazy stuff when I'm not on missions but there was no fun in that anymore. That made it the most boring GTA in the franchise for me.

Since Im grown up now.. I want GTA to be as serious as possible, with that amazing engine and writing, even serious gta could be loads of fun.. all that goofy and childish stuff is what stops my fun (dont get me wrong, in GTA5 those missions when your son drugs you, and you see monkeys, aliens and fly down from the sky with funky 80's music is right kind of fun). its ok, GTA5 in fact was most mature of them all.. but some hollywood stunts and character decisions were those who spoiled my immersion.. hope they will stick to funny GTA bits, but make physics and Story more mature!

So this is not happening and even if there was a thought put into that idea, that energy would be better used for GTA 5 DLC instead...(their most successful selling game of all time)

Which is what Rockstar is doing, they are a smart company, and they know this would be a better use of their time..

GTA V? Haven't they spent enough energy on it already by remastering it and turning part of it into an mmo? I hope they stop with GTA V pretty soon, it's getting tiresome.

If GTA IV was to be remastered i doubt it would take any resources from their other projects.

Even though its my least favorite, it most certainly does. Especially the fact that we'd have ALL major 3d open world GTA's on a single Playstation platform. I'm thinking of it in more of preservation standpoint though. I mean, I'd love for my Ps4 to natively have every game I enjoyed when I was growing up, I know its not going to happen, but wouldn't you? I do agree with you though, if there's any game that deserves it more, its definitely Red Dead.

I've played every GTA game starting with GTA 3 on the PS2, and GTA4 was the only one that I didn't finish. I just got tired of the story and always having to hang out in order to keep relationships good.

Heck No. I beat the game and GTA IV is a really long and repetitive game. Definitely not worth the time and effort to remaster it. They should just let it be available via Xbox One Backwards Compatibility as the graphics still hold up alright.

No need to talk about that. R* won't do a remaster like that.

GTA V was supposed to come out on PS4, X1 and PC all along, so it's not really a remaster. All the iOS and PS2 versions are more like ports. Apart from these things the main R* studios won't do any remasters. They care more about new worlds and stories. Just compare GTA IV with V. I mean if they would want to bring IV to the same level they'd need more than a remaster. So why bother with keeping an existing story and all that when you could do an entirely new game.

Could we see Liberty City in a GTA anytime in the future? Sure, but it'll be in an new game.

And if this is somewhat based on the "leaks" found in the GTA V code.. I doubt it has anything to do with that. It's just that R* uses a lot of assets from GTA IV.

Maybe we'll see GTA IV and it's DLC on PS Now if it's not already available.

Waluigi I had the keys to the city 100% don't think I'd get there crashing into every corner they handling was just boring it's quite simple. I'm not knocking because I wasn't any good at it as i was just compared to the other 4 3D entries the handling was by far the worst, not from a technical view purely fun, too rigid and boring. We don't want Gran turismo auto. It's meant to be a fun have a laugh game if you make the handling all serious detracts from being able to just pick up and have a blast around And the fun. It wasn't terrible just not what it should have been like the rest of the series.
