Well lookie here.either gamers voted with their wallets or Sony is being nice and not greedy.

If gamers have the right to spend money as they see fit, then gamers have a right to buy these or not. They're not forced. They're not mandatory. It's an option you don't have to get at all.

Go check the arcade archive prices on the PlayStation store at $7.99 and you tell me if these are not okay for Sony to offer at these prices
https://store.playstation.c...

PS4 does not have PS1, PS2 or PS3 emulation.either you want them or you don't. It's so simple a baby could figure it out.

magiciandude3036d ago

Looks like Sony is getting desperate as not enough people buying these in droves.

gangsta_red3036d ago

Or maybe a lot of people were complaining about the prices.

Maybe it helps to actually speak up, not hold your head down, keep your mouth shut and tell others that these billion dollar companies don't owe you jack.

_-EDMIX-_3036d ago

...because no games go on sale ever and any point in time ever.../s

travestyj3036d ago

Or they are just having a sale like they do every week...

MrBeatdown3036d ago

Yeah, that's probably why all the PS2 games are on sale, and not just a handful that include three of the most popular PS2 games out there.

Oh wait...

Christopher3035d ago (Edited 3035d ago )

What @gangsta_red said. I have to admit, the price for 3 GTA games on PS4 was ridiculous and 100% worth it and I got it.

The problem? Those are only temporary prices. I think those should be the prices at all times.

Edit: also, remember, any new PS2 emulations will go on sale the first week. That's just the standard. But, those prices are what they should be the whole time, IMHO. Talk about value.

How do I play my existed GTA 3, GTA: San Andreas or GTA: Vice City PS2 games on the PS4? That's the problem. Guess I'll continue to play them on my PS3.

3036d ago
_-EDMIX-_3036d ago

...this was never a solution to that problem bud, not even slightly.

Read what this games are. Your not buying a feature, your merely buying a game.

XanderZane3036d ago

@bruce755
I have a 4TB HDD for my XB1. Don't think it's going to be clogging anything anytime soon. I can easily add about 4TB as well, sooooo... I have 1.5 TB HDD for my PS4. It's not even close to being full yet. I doubt PS2 games are as large as PS3 & PS4 games since they were on DVD. Still, Sony doesn't provide a solution to playing your already owned PS2 games.

@_-EDMIX-_
Right, and that's the problem I have with the PS2 emulator. I already bought the games. No need to buy them again.

nitus103036d ago

@XanderZane

Most PS2 games are on one DVD (a few on CD) and therefore an image will be less than 4.7GB.

It is disappointing that the PS2 player for the PS4 and does not allow you to play from your PS2 disks however I never purchased a PS4 to play PS2 games. I have a backwards compatible PS3 and a powerful PC for that.

As for paying for PS2 games. If I don't have a particular PS2 game then I would fully expect to pay for it.

Basically if you think a particular PS2 game costs to much or you actually have the original disk then it is your choice if you are going to purchase the image to play on the PS4 under emulation or not.

the are some damn good deals for PS3 and PS4 if you ask me.

People shouldn't be complaining about this PS2 games are on sale, for me I do really don't care cause like I said there are some good deals besides the PS2 games, so I give a rat ass if Sony is selling Atari 2600 E.T for 100 dlls cause in the end is still delivering for everyone! :D

ShadowKnight3036d ago

Great job Sony for listening to the fans. Even though I don't play old games that much anymore. Looking forward to playing NEW games and IPS for all the new consoles.

? This is a sale and Sony can't force Rockstar to put their titles on Sale.

Like on Steam or any service, those sales are actually by publishers that ok those discounts, not by Sony or Valve or MS etc.

They are not changing the price.....its just a sale.

Gwiz3036d ago

In the end complaining about prices will do nothing, not buying them does as there's a quantifiable complaint to be taken seriously.

ApocalypseShadow3036d ago (Edited 3036d ago )

That's what I mentioned in the other article. If you don't buy it, the price will come down on its own. Vote with your wallet. No complaining required.

But the usual concerned... Lol...concerned individuals are the first ones here still downplaying. But hey, Xbox one doesn't play OG Xbox games.but you don't see their concern or passion for making that happen.

They're just sore Microsoft is getting destroyed and has to talk about useless metrics like " how many headshots are in a game."

Keep crying about PS2 emulation. Doesn't matter fellas. Microsoft is getting destroyed but they have billions and billions of dollars that don't go towards games.

KiwiViper853036d ago

Phil said hes working on it. I trust him.

nevin13036d ago

I might bite on these deals.

How is Second Son?

masterfox3036d ago (Edited 3036d ago )

driven story, awesome gameplay, awesome controls, each power feels so damn unique but I left wanting more, I like the character alot, awesome visuals, bad ass boss fights, if it wasn't that I already play it alot buying this game is a no brainer.

Sucker Punch is one of the few developers that it can go on par with ND in quality.

Where are These Missing VR Games?

As is they're coins down a sofa, some announced games seem to just disappear. So just where are these missing VR games?

There wont be enough demand until the tech gets better and more affordable.

ApocalypseShadow62d ago

The article is more concerned with where the announced games are. Not about VR demand.

Even with my thoughts on Facebook, they did supposedly sell over 20 million headsets. Not that I think that many are still using their Quest headsets. But even if it's only 10 million users and 5 million are interested and able to play GTA SA, that's still a lot of consumers and a lot of sales.

It just comes down to why these developers are taking so long. Is something like GTA canceled? Is it being held back for a future event? It's not like there's competition in the stand alone space. And now that I have a Quest 3 myself, I'm wondering as well what's the hold up.

Profchaos62d ago

For GTA SA
Meta made a lot of budget cuts and cancelled a fair few exclusive game contracts we don't know if this was cancelled but it's possible and this was announced prior to the release of GTA definitive edition which was slammed and eventually moved to be supported in house by Rockstar.

Since then we have just gotten the mobile versions a d they are actually the best way to play the definitive edition unfortunately the consoles never got a retrospective patch to implement the improvements they made in the mobile games.

But for VR we know a VR mode was found in the definitive editions game files thanks to data miners so seeming it was meant to be using the definitive edition as a base given its ue4 that makes sense. And the mode is there right now (some Polish may be required still) I would assume this is ready to go but meta got cold feet and cancelled it given the games reputation.

I do hope Rockstar forge ahead and still just launch it anyway on psvr2 as it's a game I've loved since day 1 on PS2 I'll even tolerate the de version to get it in VR

The reason why there are two different codes for each cheat in GTA San Andreas

From GTA BOOM: "Recently, Obbe Vermeij, a former developer at Rockstar North, shared some intriguing technical details about the ingenuity that went into creating the cheats for the GTA Trilogy"

Gamingsince1981163d ago

I bet it was painful not charging for the cheats as microtransactions
