Opinion: The Next Call of Duty Needs to be MW4, and Should Learn from Treyarch's Mistakes

Alright, let’s face it. Call of Duty has been playing catchup with itself since Black Ops 2. Ghosts was disappointing at best, Advanced Warfare was OK, and Black Ops 3, even though I’d say it’s the better of the latter two, still hasn’t reached as high as Activision would have hoped. So, as a long time fan of the Call of Duty franchise, I think it’s time for Modern Warfare 4. Let me tell you why.

Indeed MW4 was the best COD ever.

I wish I was as good at time travel as you are!

I think bixxel means CoD4 of course :)

Agree COD4, if I am not mistaken, it had amazing missions in Chernobyl Nuclear reactor, music, dogs (at that time when Fish AI wasnt invented, dogs where cool!). Without jumps, and with guns like MP5, Desert Eagle, M9, Dragunov sniper rifle etc. Multiplayer maps also got smaller over the years. Single player now went into deep Hollywood future stuff, with jumps!

WW2 or Vietnam would be best choice (we have too many modern shooters already). But innovations are very needed, I mean in technical aspect, bigger maps, better/more/realistic guns, more players, etc. if it will be same as MW3 and BO3 it will fail (they really merge together with that future stuff.)

Ya know. You are on to something.

How about instead of taking us to the year 2489 and having us fight aboard the enterprise with lasers we reboot the IP.

Imagine using next gen to create a more dynamic gaming experience instead of just adding a bunch of nonsense.

Bring us back to modern day. Make us feel war again. Show us the brutality, the fear, and the sacrifice...that we can relate to. Honestly I wouldn't mind 1 yr of WW2 again in next gen glory. The beach invasions of Normandy.

Then bring us Modern Warfare. For MP, give us maps set at all times of the day, make the maps change as you play through them. Bring is back to the ground and give us a bloody good time.

I really think that even a remaster of MW, WaW and MW2 would be immensely popular...and then a reset.

I will only buy the next cod if it present day or earlier like WW1 or WW2

What do u mean treyarch mistakes.
Bo3 is a very solid game. The best is the last 3 years.

Or maybe stop making the same fucking game every year and banish COD into a black hole where it belongs.

The next COD should be like Black Ops 3. And take what Treyarch have done and fine tune it.

Controversy in the COD community feels like it happens within an alternate timeline. Activision will take the piss with something, there will be a momentary fuss about it, and then they will forget about it and carry on anyway. Repeat this cycle literally every year for the rest of time.

They call that a crack head! Thats what this is really about, its an addiction. People who dont smoke cigarettes look and laugh at the addicts that spend $8-$10 a pack, but they cant help themselves, they are addicted. That same analogy applies perfectly to the whole MT industry. Only an addict that was not thinking clearly would spend this kind of money on something so frivolous. A round of multiplayer provides the same high a person gets from scratching a lotto ticket, or putting money on a sports bet. MT in general need to really be regulated because you have a generation of kids becoming adults who grew up only knowing the MT era of gaming. Its normal to them and they will in turn teach their kids the same by just being a gaming parent and getting their kids involved with them in gaming. Thats why no matter how ridiculous the headlines keep getting out of the MT industry, it never seems to fade or go away.

I'm so tired of hearing about what they're doing with this game, its never going to change and it's never going to value the consumer over money, furthermore the people who engage so heavily in the microtransactions I guess allegedly are having a blast and can't wait to do it some more this year when the new version of the game drops.
