My love of Star Wars didn't start with the movies. It started on the Nintendo 64

GR:
There’s so much to admire about the Star Wars saga. There’s the iconic art direction, the music of John Williams, a robot in one of the comics being called Bollux… it’s impossible to chronicle all of it. But then there are the games. Seriously, let’s forget for a moment how many of them have been rank(our). When Star Wars games are good, they’re amazing.

19 years after the fact, my favourite Star Wars game is still Shadows of the Empire on the Nintendo 64. Seriously. Let me give you some context for this.

Nice. I was a movie-toy guy. I saw Empire and Jedi in theaters. When the 1999 prequel was released I was hugely disappointed in it. From Jar Jar's dialog to the death of Maul. So I watched clone wars. Waited for the DVD. I didn't care about the theater release. I did see 3 because I wanted to witness the "nooooo!" from Vader. I was turned off from the prequels but during that time my interest in star wars didn't waver because of an Xbox game.

Knights of the old republic. Then Sith lords. I've played these over and over. I still wish kotor 3 would get made. Revan and the Outcast taking on the Sith in the outer rim would be a dream come true.

I've always liked Star Wars. The games were good, too. But I also really liked Star Trek, especially because of the Next Generation series. Nonetheless, I never became a hardcore fan of either.

However, my son (4yrs), really thinks that lightsaber battles are absolutely cool and insists on watching anything Star Wars related. (Even though I really try to get him to watch the Original Transformers, Scooby Doo, Thundercats, Batman Animated Series... etc...)

As his questions started to require more and more knowledge, I found myself becoming an even bigger fan of Star Wars. And now some would say that I'm a Star Wars nerd... For Halloween my son was Darth Vader and my daughter (2yrs) was Queen Amidala.

I couldn't agree with this articles title more. I own battle front and that's not because I'm a star wars fan but because of my grand days of playing battle front on ps2.the game play it had for its time was pretty state of the art in those days. I know I'm gonna get some disagrees but I actually think that the star wars theme held battlefront back in a few ways because ea and dice wanted to keep things so authentic. For instance character customization in general, the kinds of guns to choose from, the lack of aerial objects and land mass etc, level design even tho the levels aren't bad and just the overall idea of trying to stay true to the star wars universe. I'd personally like to see watt dice could do with creating a totally fiction universe with some of the same gameplay concepts like large maps, sea,air and ground vehicles, some indoor gameplay, lots of large scale destruction, full character and vehicle customization, deep clan system with clan ranks and clan battles, and a ranking system similar to socom 2 or star hawk. Make it happen D.I.C.E. Lol
