"The Greatest Star Wars Game Ever": TIE Fighter

USgamer:

"Like everyone else on the planet, I rewatched the Star Wars trilogy over the previous weekend in preparation for the release of The Force Awakens. It was a great trip down memory lane for the most part (even if Return of the Jedi got a little silly at times), but the moment that stood out for me was the iconic trench run - the climactic moment of the original film that saw Luke trying to line up to destroy the Death Star with Darth Vader hot on his tail."

Tie Fighter was fantastic, and a superb follow up to X-Wing.

I loved being able to see the other side of the coin.

I still remember buying this for my dad when i was about 9. Only cost £4.99 #9 (that was 3 weeks pocket money back then!) but my god it was fun to watch...i couldn't play it for poop at that age

I got this in a 5 pack star wars game collection. This was the best one and I even downloaded it and played it like last year on the cpu for there is no other game made since like it. SOMEONE REMAKE SOMETHING LIKE THIS FOR YOU HAVE NO COMPETITION AND WILL SELL!!!

Why hasn't this been remade?

Kinect Star Wars was fun!
Podracing was responsive and helluvalotta fun...
OK the dance crap was lame and had no place in the game.

This was not the best but far from the worst!

Ranking The Top 30 Star Wars Games

Game Informer

Most members of the Game Informer staff have played more Star Wars games than they can recall, and are avid fans of the films, expanded fiction, and collectibles. We spent a few days bickering over the best Star Wars games to date, and spent a few more arguing over the order they should be arranged in on our Top 30 list. Why 30? That's the cutoff between the playable and fun games and the prequel-like missteps.
