“With the news that an XCOM 2: Digital Deluxe Edition is now available for pre-purchase, I’ve come to consider some of the realism behind Firaxis Games’ popular, tactical-based, alien blaster. Whilst their latest installment in the series is boasting some serious graphical improvements, we have to consider some of the implications of its unrealistic story; which is just silly to say the least.”
Firaxis veteran Jake Solomon hasn't seen mass layoffs like this in his whole 25-year career.
Alot’s changed in 25 years. We have games with $300 mill budgets, people not interested in games other than Fortnite and Minecraft, the older generation of gamers giving up the hobby or dying off, a period of super bad inflation where the industry decided to hike up prices on games, Gamepass harming game sales, GaaS games being pushed left and right with obnoxious monetization and worse looking/playing (Suicide Squad vs Arkham Knight).
The industry is just shite right now. Games ain’t selling, games cost massive amounts, businesses can’t bleed money and this is what happens. Part of it is on them and part of it is on consumers not buying.
The PS5 is an incredible console, and if you're lucky enough to have one, or have just received one for Christmas then you'll already know there is a host of great games out there.
What you may not be aware of is that if you subscribe to PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium, you'll actually get access to a huge catalogue of titles to play at any time. Many of which you can stream without having to do any downloads. If you have a PlayStation Portal you could even play these titles from your bed.
Damn the only one I’ve played so far is Miles Morales, although I do own Control and Rift Apart.
Odd list. Where is Horizon Forbidden West? Ghost of Tsushima? Demon’s Souls? Returnal? And fun indie games like Superliminal? Where’s “A Plage Tale Requiem” and “Evil West”, the current PS+ Essential offerings?
Like seriously? Those are games Extra Tier can get - so not worth upgrading to Premium
XCOM: Enemy Unknown rebooted the series back in 2012, and has since inspired numerous new strategy game series to be born.
If someone gets into this I'd recommend getting the enemy within version. It's got all the dlc included so it's the better version. Wish the author would've atleast mentioned it. I didn't see it.
Fantastic game though. Xcom 2 is top notch also. I've spent countless hours in these games.
Maybe Donald Trump's toupee is an alien mind control device, and he's just a pawn in their game!
The truth is out there *X-files music plays*
Hahaha, the title of this article reminded me of someone ranting about The Dark Knight and how they thought aspect a or b was done poorly. The last response was, dude, its a movie about a man dressing like a bat and fighting criminals. Really!!?? What a ridiculous waste of text. A videogame about aliens is unrealistic, waaahhhh!!! What is wrong with the world today? Are there any intelligent people left?
OK, this isn't gaming news, not even a gaming opinion. It's political satire, and barely satire because the author is practically foaming at the mouth with barely concealed impotent rage.
You know, for all his snark in there, you'd think he'd know to use a clickbait headline that makes people WANT to click through, not one that makes them dismiss it outright.
