Patrick Klepek:
"One of Nintendo’s biggest releases in 2015 is the sprawling 100-hour adventure Xenoblade Chronicles X, released earlier this year in Japan. It’s great-looking and fun. That’s not in dispute. The most heated debate about the game—making it the latest flashpoint in ongoing skirmishes over censorship, creative freedom and sexual politics—involves a pair of changes made for the American release."
With Chronicles finished, it's time to return to the mechs and mysteries of Mira
Yes, I agree. We definitely need to retake Xenoblade Chronicles X which btw it left us on a cliffhanger suggesting there wiull be a XCX2 .... and im up for it.
I put so many hours into X, just please ad a music volume setting was going crazy walking around base and hearing
"UH UH... YEAH!.. YEAH!...YEAHYEAHYEEEEAAAAH!..U H UH!"
I can't believe they haven't done it yet, it's the Xenoblade game I'm most excited for, I would buy it in a heart beat.
It has been 10 years since Xenoblade arrived in the US, we look back at how the game almost never showed up if not for a group of dedicated fans.
I wish The Last Story would make a comeback.I played it years before I got around to Xenoblade. Mainly because of the scalping going on because of Xeno's limited run. It took me a few tries to get into it but once I did I couldn't put it down. A Wii hidden gem for sure.
I wish the Last Story get a Switch remaster or remake. That game deserves a second chance
Nintendo will be shutting down the eShop for the 3DS and Wii U completely in 2023. Makes sure to check out these games before they do.
If they're not important enough to be held on their own official storefront then they're not important enough to give your money to Nintendo.
Buy these, physically, used or simply emulate them.
This article comes off as nothing more than advertising games that Nintendo, themselves, don't care to offer you... buy now!
Wait hang on where all the outrage? I swear when Sony tried to do this with PS3 last year. There was outrage from all corners of the gaming universe.
Why does no one care Nintendo is doing it?
It's lame that it is shutting down. Now I feel rushed buying all the rpgs I missed out on the system.
You guys know that even archive.org has 3DS roms, and all other console roms. I'm downloading 846GB of 3DS roms and will add the best games to my soon to be soft modded New 3DS 😁. Might as well throw in DS and other emulators in there to. Guys this would be the best way to play and enjoy the 3DS. Just need to buy a bigger micro SD card and format it to FAT32, which you can if it's even 256GB or larger there are ways.
This turned out to be a decent article!
"Though I found no evidence of a coordinated effort to campaign against Dead or Alive Xtreme’s release."
Why don't you ask Play-Asia for their take on that statement.
But honestly, when you've created an environment that's going to shame and lambaste a game for purely being about fan-service, a coordinated effort is hardly needed to scare away devs & publishers with certain content in their games. And the author has a lot of nerve pretending otherwise, considering Kotaku & Polygon are at the forefront of this 'poisoning of the well'.
And anyone who has been paying unbiased attention to the way some of these "journalists" and others in industry have been conducting themselves lately, I can bet you a million that if the game had been confirmed to ship out here, KoeiTecmo would receive the same crap Play-Asia got and then some. LOAD UP THE "PROBLEMATIC" MACHINE-GUN!
I'm just gunna leave this here:

Informative seemingly unbiased straightforward article coming from kotaku who's been blacklisted by tecmo for once. Nintendo for as long as I can remember has always been about censorship on their console no matter the region. In this day its both expected and accepted that this is the Nintendo way. The problem now is that all consoles are now afraid to publish any controversial game in some form or another. Despite there clearly being a ratings system that took affect in the days that violent video games were a problem it would seem the ratings are tied only to violence and not acknowledged in the more risqué market. These developers rarely if ever mention it and if they do its not enough to push the boundaries of sexuality for fear of a backlash. If developers in the 90s were this afraid when people wanted mortal kombat and duke nukem recalled we would have no god of war or a call of duty today. If these developers don't stand by the product as is we risk losing the industry to people who have opinions about games they find offensive but are not even gamers. I hope that one day this all changes and adults can be free to play the games they want free of ridicule and judgement. It seems as of right now the video game industry has yet to cut the shackles that bind it to a kids only demographic of gamers when in fact it no longer is and the sooner people understand this and the fact that you can't put the finger on fantasy for the flaws of reality. The better well all be for it and maybe game in our respective genres in peace.
