ARK Xbox One Runs At 30-45FPS; XB1 Optimizations Coming To PC Soon

Jesse Rapczak confirmed that the Game Preview version of ARK: Survival Evolved on Xbox One runs between 30 and 45 FPS. Xbox One optimizations should be coming soon to PC.

Doesn't run badly on my PC. I easily get 40-60fps pretty much anywhere but my base where I have 100+ tamed dinos.

I'm running it on a GTX 980, I5 4690k, 16gb ram bolted to a maximus ranger board and the game runs like arse! at 1440p 15fps Ultra, 27fps medium to high. That was two weeks ago when I purchased the game haven't played it since for obvious reasons

What I saw from the trailer wasn't medium settings. However, this is MS, so that could very well be PC footage.

Nah, it's better than medium. I have it on my PC. While early access version will run at lower resolution (probably 720p, but they confirmed it will go up by the time final version is released) the game looked great. Why XO versions run so well? It's because Ark is CPU bound, and xbox one has a pretty strong CPU. That together with dx12 which mainly focuses on CPU, gives XO huge advantage.

This game is amazing. Played it on my PC and had to stop since it was announced for XB1 this winter. Didn't want to put in all those hours for nothing. Glad my patience paid off! Can't wait!

Watching that trailer... it's kind of sad to see my R9 390/ I7 - 4790k being able to pull those kind of visuals but at the same FPS. Optimization does make a difference... Looking forward to playing it again this time with better optimization hopefully.

It looks amazing BUT i think the resolution is between 720P-900P BUT note that the resolution in the Game Preview build is not final. The final build will have a higher resolution once it releases sometime in June. But what is final are the frames and graphics those are already set in stone.

Runs like a boss on the PC if you turn settings down. Lirik a well known streamer with 3 titans, and yes i know it doesnt support more then 1 right now. Has to turn settings down quite a bit to get it to run smoothly. And i have to do the same also with a 4770k overclocked to 4.2 and a gtx 980.

I'm so pissed, I paid for the PC version of this! I have a Med/High end rig, And the optimization on this game is horrid!! I LOVE how they focus on the console before the PC... Go figure another alpha game to get F**KED by :(

The fact it's running at a frame rate that high before proper optimisation is good news for performance compared to most titles that struggle to even hit a locked 30.
Given how the PS4 version will have PSVR support, hopefully getting a solid frame rate so early means after optimisation it'll be a smooth experience.

Don't expect anything like ARK ever working on any console this gen with VR. It's simply impossible due to huge amount of processing power required. All you gonna see is simple games with ps2 like graphics.

Played it on PC, gonna test it on XO. It's basically "mmo-ish" minecraft with survival and dinosaurs. You wake up on an island (sometimes around other players) and you need to survive. You get hungry, thirsty, cold, overheated when exposed too long to sun, and you even have to take a dump (not kidding). You harvest, build a base, tame dinosaurs and make your way out of stone age to metal and miniguns. This game is also pvp enabled on most servers, meaning other players can attack your village, loot your sleeping body when you're offline etc. Great fun with friends.

This is a fun game. I had to run it on low to medium on my 760 though. Glad to see they optimized it better for the console ports.
