I love this company! one in a million, they understand and know gamers.

Brave_Losers_Unite3063d ago

And this is why they gain support. These guys care about gamers

..l.. EA,Ubisoft, Konami, and maybe soon Square Enix

_-EDMIX-_3063d ago

....DICE is still supporting BF4, its still getting maps, features and just recently got some.

Rockstar does too, Bethesda does too, in fact many, many developers have always done this for some time. I like what CDPR is doing...I also like what others have been doing for quite some time now.

Before you just spew out "EA", consider DICE are part of EA and have a history of supporting their titles long term. They are owned by EA, they can't just do what ever they feel, so yes.....EA might fall under that as I'm pretty sure EA gave them the ok to continue supporting titles like BF4 which came out in 2013.

sullynathan3063d ago

You people are quick to point fingers when a company sings sweet words for you and give you free DLC.

Where were you guys when they released Witcher 1 with so many bugs? or Witcher 2 with problems and had to re-release with an enhanced edition?

or with Witcher 3 and it's giant downgrade and CDPR's lying? oh wait, we forgot about that one.

You guys have selective memory for this company because you played one game from them and you liked it.

Best believe that once one of their newer games doesn't live up to what you expect, you'll turn against them quickly.

OoglyBoogly3063d ago

I can see his point. It's a massive world...why not add more story and quests to it? I wish more companies would have done this like 2K with Mafia 2! Big and beautiful world with nothing else but the main story...just seems like a waste.

Pintheshadows3063d ago

Mafia 2's open world was just an empty backdrop which was a real shame. The only thing you did in it was drive from point a to point b. Disappointing.

VerdicLinwe3063d ago

I used to be a fan, but this game is being seriously overrated. Its a static open world game with only static scripted events that only trigger once and never reoccur. There is literally one mini game (albeit it is fantastic.) and it follows the Assassin's Creed formula for throwing a buncha markers at you and making you feel like you're at work to hit them all.

Its a great *Freshman* open world game. But it is certainly not the *best* one i've ever seen. People need to take a chill pill.

razorpakk3063d ago

Name one RPG with a better open world.
The Witcher 3 is quality And quantity.

moomoo3193063d ago

Fallouts world doesnt look as great but i thought it did a better job of populating the world with interesting things to do and making it feel organic to explore. Walking through the city and exploring every nook, cranny, and building interested me way more than the the witchers question marks

sullynathan3063d ago (Edited 3063d ago )

Gothic 2? Morrowind? Fallout New Vegas? Gothic 1? Ultima?
Oh, wait. You probably didn't play some of these games.

VerdicLinwe3061d ago (Edited 3061d ago )

Gothic 2
Fallout 4
Fallout 3
Fallout New Vegas
Skyrim

If you can't grasp what non static events are and world space comparison vertically as well as world interactivity mean in game design we have nothing further to discuss on the matter.

BallsEye3062d ago

I completely disagree. I'm a fan of open world games, fan of simulations that Oblivion had (unfortunately they dropped it all in Skyrim in favor of better graphics) and I've played them all. IMO Witcher is the best one out there. The only open world game where the world feels actually real (amazing landscape geometry), where player can enter any super detailed interior without loading screen (unlike in Bethesda games) where every single side quest is done so well it feels like it could be part of the main story. It's not a perfect game, but as a whole product, certainly as close anyone got so far.

@sullynathan

Played them all. Loved them all. Witcher is on another level. Nostalgia. Don't go back to these titles, your good memories will be shattered.

HammadTheBeast3062d ago

I mean, it doesn't try to be a sandbox game. It isn't a sandbox game. In this world, things happen once, and then they move on, I'm not sure why you'd want to play the same events over and over, or why you don't want markers.

It's an amazing story-based open-world game with a pretty vibrant world, there's a ton of content. In terms of graphics, it's easily the best vanilla open-world game, story and characters are also strong suits.

2017. Confirmed. Cyberpunk.

ThePope3063d ago

I'm glad about that since QB, and Mass Effect comes out in 2016. Cyberpunk will fill our sci-fi needs in 2017

ColonelHugh3063d ago

Great for the Witcher, but cyberpunk won't be out til 2077 at this rate. (thats a joke guys)
Kalebninja, what in the world makes you think they're that far or quick at development? This is how blind hype starts. These games take time and love in the oven, and they haven't started baking yet.

Well they are using unreal engine now thanks to there work culture and horrific job on making cyberpunk so for the future no impact.

But it will be interesting to see what mods will be made

7 disagrees shows how many look at one dlc that had a rip off fight from ghost in the shell and goes wow what a goat team i love cdpr while ignoring that they only made 2 games that were good witcher 2/3 in 20yrs.

But its a new world we want a criminal that support's legal murder as president/support shoplifting love toxic work environments and have a mass casualty event every other day.

GhostMirror6d ago

I’ll admit I didn’t play it at launch, but Cyberpunk 2077 is a really good game now.

And who the hell knows what you’re even going on about in your second paragraph here.

EazyC7d ago

Wait a min...I swear to god CP2077's source code got leaked before. CDPR needs to stop using "password123" for all their accounts 😅

just_looken6d ago

Na its hundreds ex employees no doubt just getting there revenge.

Profchaos6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

This is the same leak the threat actors have been trying to sell the source code after cd project didn't pay the ransom.

They didn't manage to sell the source code to any company largely because it would be unethical for say EA to buy it so the threat actors failed to find a buyer.

After they failed to make any money they went through with their threat of simply giving it away.

They will need to add everything they promised in the first one and not over promise on the second one.

just_looken7d ago

They also need to drop esg then hire employees that have knowledge not hire them because they have a set of tits.

Official video they hired people to fill the esg clipboard

Hofstaderman7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

As somebody who has been playing the tabletop games since the 90s and was let down on launch by my PS4 version, you can bet I'm not going the preorder any sequel.

nmbr1esq6d ago

3rd person option, and everything else that was originally promised. Next don't force agenda driven naratives. Finally, release a finished product without need for day one patches.

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave23d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan23d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave23d ago (Edited 23d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
