Why is this a limits time only deal? It should be the standard yearly model going forward. It's a much better deal than $180 a year for the 3 month model or $240 for the monthly model.

MASTER_RAIDEN3066d ago

completely agree.
$9 a month for PlayStation now is just as justifiable to my wallet as $8 a month for a Netflix account. This is definitely where Sony should have began with ps now.

I cannot believe WB added both mortal kombat and injustice to PlayStation now but didn't add the mortal kombat arcade collection. I've literally checked the PlayStation store since psnow came out for that game.

Skate-AK3066d ago

The Arcade Collection is trash. Probably the worst MK port I have ever played.

XtraTrstrL3066d ago

Plus, if you're getting those fighting games to play online, it's gonna be streaming, so it's not as good as just owning the game on a certain platform. Especially if it's like Street Fighter 4 or something, where you need the 60fps with no lag that the streaming brings.

Unspoken3066d ago

Wow, Sony fans are getting raped and justifying it in the process! That's insane!

So glad Microsoft is giving Xbox owners backwards compatibility for free and you don't have to worry about laggy streaming game play and compressed quality graphics. Ew.

donthate3066d ago

Why would you care about fighting games with PS Now?

That is like one of the worst games to play on PS Now due to the massive lag. Single player experience is probably your best bet, but then again I have a hard time justifying playing PS Now on free, let alone paying for it. I would rather just buy a PS3 and the games I want for a pittance anyhow rather than deal with the frustration of PS Now.

UKmilitia3065d ago

its £12.99 in uk last when i looked acouple of days ago.
isnt that about $19 a month?

Just a marketing tatic in which they create an illusion of getting it now before its to late.

Or their testing it to see if its a long term solution.

iceman063066d ago

Probably a bit of both.

agame9143066d ago

Actually I find it pretty cool for the fact I can play all these games on my playstation vita

Letthewookiewin3066d ago

99$ is what it should have been from the start and to me that's a fantastic deal for someone who has been out of gaming for some years due to life and what not, doesn't have a PS3 and wants to catch up without digging through reviews and Gamestops isles for games they don't know they will actually end up liking. Sony was testing the market for its entry point though. I'm sure this is going to be where it stays.

Scatpants3066d ago

Of course a company is going to start high and work their way down to the sweet spot price. Otherwise they could be leaving money on the table they could have had.

donthate3066d ago

Scatpants:

You mean like how Netflix started on the low end and moving up?

There is a reason why Netflix is a fast growing company with the stock in recent day the highest it has ever been, whereas it's competition is languishing.

Netflix is bringing massive value!!!

Christopher3066d ago

$99 is a fine price (cheaper than 1 year of Netflix) for the service, but if you already have played or own most of the games, not worth it still. Also, not worth it if you have low bandwidth caps or just crappy Internet to begin with.

ThyMasterDebater3066d ago (Edited 3066d ago )

My guess is that they are testing this model out so nothing is set in stone yet.

S2Killinit3066d ago (Edited 3066d ago )

I've already used PSNow occasionally for those times I need a new game, or a certain genre on a moment's notice to satisfy my fix. But the subscription model never appealed to me because I usually play new games, while PSNow fills up the "quick fix" sessions. At this price though, I might just pay for the subscription and play more freely.

demonddel3066d ago

Wait what Sony is charging $100 a year to play select ps3 games is this for people who never owned a ps3 or something

TwoForce3066d ago

I think that kind like a collection games of WB. All of them are 99.9 $.

Eonjay3066d ago

No. Its all games for $99. They are just adding the WB games to the collection.

Skate-AK3066d ago

Yeah. The service is also on Bravia and Samsung TV'S. That opens the market to millions of people that never bought a PS3 but recently purchased a Smart TV.

donthate3066d ago (Edited 3066d ago )

Except you have to also get the controller. The controller doesn't come with the TV....

That is the kicker, but yeah it does open it up a little.

Letthewookiewin3066d ago

@Demon - I think so, it's also geared towards people who don't have a console at all. I got curious and played Killzone 3 straight from my TV that has PS Now on it and it works really well. For a hundred bucks a year you get more games than you can possibly play. Not enticing to someone who has all their physical PS3 games but to someone who has been out of gameing for the last couple years and wants to catch up this is great.

BattleAxe3066d ago

Do they have trophies available for those games?

_-EDMIX-_3066d ago

They are charging to stream PS games...

Whether you owned them or not or owned a PS3 or not isn't even relevant bud, its not as if suddenly owning a PS3 means the deal is void to you lol you can use PS Now on PS3 you know...

Sensiblesteve3066d ago

It's for complete mugs - why would anyone use this service

FunAndGun3066d ago

Because you have 250+ games to play for $8.25/month.

Just because it's not for you doesn't mean it's not for anyone. This is a great price for the amount of games you can play.

In fact, I am going to subscribe with this promotion, and I have 2 PS3's, a PS4, and a Vita at home. $99 really is not that much money for unlimited streaming/gaming for a year.

Scatpants3066d ago

It's great on Vita if you have good wifi. Of course you have to find games that don't use the l2r2l3r3 very much.

Scatpants3066d ago

I think people use it to play games.

S2Killinit3066d ago (Edited 3066d ago )

@SensibleSteve
For the same reason people rent games. Except this is much better and easier, with a larger variety of games than anywhere else. With no late fees.

@FunAndGun
I counted over 500, last time (5 months ago or so) but I didn't take into account that there are different versions of some games. But I think 250 is also outdated number.

FunAndGun3066d ago

I got that number (250+) from the blog post link in this article. He mentions this amount in response to one of the comments. The link he provides is also where I got the list of games available I posted below. I don't have PS Now yet so I'm just going on the official info I have seen.

S2Killinit3066d ago

I see. Well, either way thanks for the list. Its very helpful.

Tobsesan3066d ago

They should make a Ps+ Premium bundle = for 99$/Year you get Ps+ and Ps Now. That would be a great deal.

PhucSeeker3066d ago

That's a steal, and it should be the special offer while 100$/year is a standard price.

_-EDMIX-_3066d ago

Agreed. I always felt PS Plus should give some sort of discount for PS Now or something. I don't rent games so I'mt not really sure what a good deal or bad deal is lol.

I haven't rented in a very, very long time.

The Arkham games are largely excellent, a shame they are being followed up by that god awful looking suicide squad game.

RaidenBlack195d ago

All 4 Arkham games are just amazing...
With the Gotham Knights turning out sub par, hope the Suicide Squad fails as well... So that both Rocksteady and WB Montreal goes back to creating good single player DC games ...
A batman beyond game maybe?

anal_vegan_moans194d ago

Having the game fail would make it harder for them to get funding for their next game, please don't wish this on them. They already delayed the game a whole year after backlash, so we still have to wait and see how it will turn out.

GhostScholar194d ago

I think asylum and origins were great. City was good. Knight was horrible.

195d ago
Ezio2048195d ago

You can't expect a game to match 96-94 meta apple for apple. Different era and different gen. No need to diminish either game's achievement. Arkham City and Spiderman 2 are both amazing sequels that improved upon their already incredible first parts.

Tacoboto195d ago

To back that up, there are major websites that adjusted their review scales.

IGN used to have a 100 point system; now it's a 10 point system. I remember GameSpot back in 2004 was razed for giving Halo 2 a 9.4 when IGN gave it like a 9.7 or 9.8

darthv72195d ago

Arkham Asylum was great, but when City came out... wow what a total overhaul that was. Nothing has had that type of night/day difference in scope and scale since.

SM2 is looking to be a great game in itself. Definitely an upgrade over the previous entries. Just from the opening battle with sandman, it gives me god of war 2 vibes with how that one opened with the battle with colossus of rhodes. That is still one of my favorite sequels of all time.

Zeke68195d ago

Thanks for the spoiler how the game starts loser...

darthv72194d ago

Zeke... you've had plenty of time to play god of war 2.

GaboonViper195d ago

And right on cue, here comes the downplaying of Insomniacs masterpiece, not gonna work, this game is gonna be beast in success.

BehindTheRows195d ago

From the same folks who gave it a 10/10 no less.

Aloymetal195d ago

I got 80% trophy completion on Ragnarok but left a few of the battles. Will come back to it one day.

Miraak82 302d ago

Dragon Quest 11 is my top pick

RpgSama302d ago

Dragon Quest XI was such an AMAZING game, I had a blast from the very beginning all the way to the very end, it actually got better the more you played, full of surprises as well.

Another game that I enjoyed from the very beginning all the way to the end of the 100% completion was Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Really, really, really fun game with a great heartfelt story.

badz149302d ago (Edited 302d ago )

Where is Horizon Zero Dawn?? where is Ghost of Tsushima?? I just got my Platinum on HZD and is now trying to finish the Frozen Wild expansion. so much care and love went into that game and it really shows. I especially adore the lore and have sunk many hours listening to the logs and reading journals. the back story is great and the gameplay is awesome. can't wait to replay on the hardest difficulty on NG+. next in my list would be to finish GoTsushima

Tacoboto302d ago

Ghost was fantastic especially after Iki Island and the PS5 upgrade. 100%'d that, Horizon Forbidden West (not ZD), GoW (not yet Ragnarok), Spider-Man, and R&C: Rift Apart.

Each one absolutely worth it.

Aloymetal302d ago (Edited 302d ago )

100% I would like to add to you list RDR2, amazing as well and the perks from getting the Legend Of The East outfit is awesome.
Sekiro as well, have to play twice to get it but it's worth it!

Demetrius302d ago

I agree I'm on my 2nd playthroughs of both horizon forbidden West(zero dawn I played also) ghost of Tsushima except I'm replaying it on PS5 this time, the iki island expansion is amazing

ClayRules2012302d ago

Yeah, GoT was already an AMAZING game on PS4, but playing it on PS5, along with that expansion, just even better.

Elda302d ago

I just started my copy of GOW:R, enjoying it so far.

DefenderOfDoom2302d ago (Edited 302d ago )

Okay the title of article should be top 10 , 3rd person games to complete 100 percent. Nine 3rd person games and 1 racing game on this list .
