Sam Foxall from VGU writes: '2015 has been the year of the great big sandbox. We’ve had The Witcher 3, Phantom Pain, Fallout 4, Mad Max, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and to round a year of fast travelling, endlessly repeating quests and universally weak plot lines, we have Just Cause 3. Just Cause 2 was held up as one of the best open-world experiences of last generation and Just Cause 3 tries to be that glowing example of the dick about game, by basically doing JC2 all over again.'
Some games make up for a lackluster story with excellent gameplay. These are some games with average storylines but great gameplay.
Who decides if a games story is average idefinitely ain't listening to no reviewers. I don't agree with most of then anyway. I think alot of them are to harsh on games so they can get clicks
The pinnacle of bad story but great gameplay is Destiny and Destiny 2. What is the Traveler? What is the Darkness? What the heck is happening? No one knew. But shooting the aliens and robots felt so good.
This week in gaming deals we have Mass Effect Legendary Edition the cheapest it's been so far, along with great deals on other games
Overpowered guns can often ruin the balance of a game but they can also be a ton of fun. Unless you're on the receiving end, of course.
Score is ridiculous, it's a very fun game..
What? This game is easily a 3/5 or 4/5, Awesome sandbox fun!
You can grapple a person to two different mountains and slingshot him across the map.
I don't see how that sounds like 2/5.
For me it's a 3/4. The overall performance issues are not as crippling as AC: Unity or Arkham Knight. I'm willing to give JC3's buggy state a pass simply because it is a grander game than the sequels and still run sufficiently compared to the other two aforementioned games that somehow still performed horribly even though their makers have been using the same game engines for years. In short the game is enjoyable with refine gameplay and graphic that is not pulled out of shelves for massive patching or have a wave of people clamoring for refunds.
However, I don't think it deserves a 4/5 or higher due to the obnoxious permanent online leaderboard system. Such a feature is becoming more and more prevalent in singleplayer games like in Sleeping Dogs, MGSV:TPP and now JC3. It's bad enough that devs are ditching singleplayer campaigns in their games like in Star War Battlefront but now singleplayer only sand box games have to be somehow a competitive experience. Let the leaderboard hunters have their fun but don't ruin the expereince for those who couldn't care less about it. Not to mentioned the stuttering the feature caused as it searched for online connection.
