Capcom reports high pre-orders for new HD Resident Evil updates

Pre-orders for Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil Origins Collection are well ahead of the publisher’s predictions.

The Xbox One, PS4 and PC compilation brings together the updated edition of Resident Evil HD – which launched digitally in January 2015 – with the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 0. It’s due on January 22nd, 2016.

Capcom says that the title’s early success points to the diversity in the current games market.

“We are very happy regarding the Resident Evil Origins Collection pre-order numbers – they are performing above our expectations,” said marketing director Antoine Molant.

Thats amazing news. No go back and keep Resident Evil 2 with tank controls and fixed camera and awesome atmosphere like RE Remake. And while you are at it, announce Resident Evil 3 Remake and Outbreak File 3 :)

Majin-vegeta3095d ago

They already are.And its a full remake from tbe ground up like the new Ratchet and clank.

DarkOcelet3095d ago

Yeah i know, what i meant is that they should not change the fixed camera angles nor the tank controls.

But knowing Capcom, it will most likely be 3rd person just like RE4,5,6.

I waitied for this collection for so long. i am buying it day one. I know RE1 by heart i played it so many times on PS1. I also got the GC version it was so good.
RE Zero is also a blast! Great collection thank you Capcom.
Now make us a Maximo with that beast Deep Down engine please

Neonridr3095d ago

fixed camera angles are fine, but I can't stand the old tank controls. Aim up, straight or down. I like the flexibility of being able to aim a little better.

freshslicepizza3095d ago

what happened to capcom? they used to be one of the best publishers and now their biggest and brightest games are remakes of older titles.

@Neonridr what's so hard on aiming with the classic control?
you need to put a lil more effort and bang, you know how to play
it requires practice like everything else
Practice, Practice and Practice is the key for success ;)
and btw the old RE had auto aim, so i don't know why you find old controls so difficult :/
oh even RE remake had AUto aim

majedx93095d ago

don't forget the save rooms and ink ribbon

i think Capcom should puts RE2/RE3 in one game with %70 adding new areas.

So glad i waited on getting these. Now i can buy them retail wise.Dispise digital downloads.

MetroidFREAK213095d ago

The bundle is going to cost $29.99 isn't it? I'll check it out if it's $19.99

Dabigsiebowski3095d ago (Edited 3095d ago )

29.99 is to high for two great remastered remakes? As silly as that sounds...no the price is just right and has no hint of greed. They are great games for a very fair price but that's ok it seems like you aren't to interested anyways and that helps keeping you out of real thorough discussions about the games which I'm sure no one here will miss.
I'm sure you have no problem buying season passes as those must be a great deal to you.

Looking Back to 2016 with the Resident Evil Zero HD Remaster - Origins of Evil

Darren writes: "I view Resident Evil Zero and the 2016 Remaster as a bit of an oddity in the series, the black sheep if you will. It tried something a bit different, and in the end did so with limited success."

everything about the game is great except for the inventory system. You literally spend half the game managing your inventory. And You have to leave your stuff like on the floor and remember where you put it. It's nothing like the inventory in any other resident Evil game It's cumbersome and highly annoying.
If you can get past that it's a cool game with gorgeous graphics

NapalmSanctuary1220d ago

yeah, the inventory system just destroys the game's flow. Especially on the first playthrough where you don't know what you're going to need to keep close by in any given area.

AriesBear1219d ago

It's all trial and error but pushed to the limit. That's literally the only thing that holds the game back. But damn it is beautiful.
