With Hoopa now possible to obtain in Pokemon Omega Ruby or Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, it’s unfortunate that only those who can visit their local McDonalds can get it. Well, what if you can’t visit? Fortunately, there’s a way to get Hoopa without actually going to McDonalds.
From Nintendo Life: "It's time to dust off your 3DS and your copy of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, because people have been reporting that their cartridges are no longer working, almost seven years after the release of the game.
A few people on Reddit and ResetEra are making sure to test their copies, and it seems like only the PAL version is affected, although it's not clear what might have caused the issue yet."

Personally tested and working with Pokemon X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire. Deleting all other WiFi connections is unnecessary if you only have one router in range. If it does not work, ensure that the F in WiFi is capitalized. That was my problem initially.
