things looking fine

Ouch, seems like RotTR didnt get off to a great start.

DarkOcelet3095d ago (Edited 3095d ago )

Its a shame about Rise Of The Tomb Raider though. Those numbers are not good.

But its awesome that Fallout 4 is on top of the charts.

Rimeskeem3095d ago

Yah, glad Fallout 4 has a chance at beating CoD!

maingon3094d ago

shouldnt it be expected, with Fallout 4 and Call of Duty being released. Tomb Raider even on PS4 wouldnt be able to top those.

asadachi3094d ago

Yeah, tomb raider failed for obvious reasons. 1. It released the same time as fallout 4. 2. It didn't release on the PS4.

Clarence3094d ago

That's why its should have been released on both consoles. Those numbers for halo5 are rather low to.

Lenrulesdaworld3094d ago

would of made no difference, the game will sell overtime.

We all should've seen this coming. Fallout 4, which was heavily marketed by Microsoft, sold better on PS4 than on XO.

Not only that, but it looks like Rise of Tomb Raider flopped. For all the hype it was getting, it didn't even pass 300k in its first week in the US.

jon_snow3095d ago

World wide sales of ROTR is less than 160k while the Original did 1million plus. Biggest loser is CD not MS or SE.

wodan3094d ago (Edited 3094d ago )

@jon_snow

It is a loss for both but more for MS ROTR failed on moving systems and it failed as an exclusive thats what you get for releasing all your games close to each other and against big holidays games , and for CD it failed as a product.

Neonridr3094d ago

What should we all have seen Phoenix? That a game on a larger install base in a territory sold better?

I'm guessing you didn't take "Common Sense 101" in high school huh?

choujij3093d ago

"I'm guessing you didn't take "Common Sense 101" in high school huh?"

If you felt the need to take such a class, I think that would say a whole lot more about you.

OT: While I wasn't expecting a huge success for TR, those numbers are very poor given all the attention the game received.

Neonridr3093d ago

@choujij - thanks for actually adding something to my discussion.

Am I wrong? A game being sold on an install base of over twice as much should sell better on said platform correct?

Lev19033094d ago

You are saying that fallout 4 on xbox only sold 100k less against a console that has double installbase as xbox? It seems like a succes to me thoo.

And everyone saw the low sales of tomb raider a mile away. It was a dumb move to bring it as the same day as fallout.

GamingIVfun3094d ago

Sold 100k less on Xbox One in the US where the PS4 is ahead by around a 900,000. Fallout 4 has sold more than 1,550,000 more on PS4 than Xbox One world wide. Still solid numbers for both considering install base.

Neonridr3093d ago

The PS4 is less than a million ahead in the US? You sure about that?

thricetold3092d ago

No, not everyone. There were PLENTY of folks here swearing to the high heavens how tombraider would sell just fine seeing as fo4 was a different type of game.

No matter how many folks tried to set em straight they thought X1 was going to have a must have game in TR. WRONG. Of course now that numbers are out they are all in hiding lol.

PhoenixUp3090d ago (Edited 3090d ago )

@ Neo

Fallout 4 was being bundled with many XO consoles. It had a chance to be the top selling version in the US, but Microsoft underestimated consumers' buying habits.

Also, the PS4's install base in the US isn't twice as large than XO

Halo 5 outsold Fallout 4 on its first week when comparing individual platform. The only game to outsell Halo this year is COD of course.

DarkOcelet3095d ago

I am pretty sure Fallout 4 will outperform Halo 5 sales on XboxOne in the end though.

Rimeskeem3094d ago

So you are saying the 2 generic FPS games are the best selling games of this year?

dangit

DonkeyDoner3094d ago

even fallout 4 on pc physical sold more than tomb raider

How nice of them to give us more control over graphical settings as a way to *completely* avoid taking accountability for the broken Xbox settings.

bondsmx1d 11h ago

Well, I still crashed like 5 times last night within two hours. So there’s that.

anast16h ago

I had to stop. The game is not good. I'd rather play Skyrim and that game isn't that good either.

I Think It's About Time We Realize Fallout 4 Wasn't That Bad

Ahmed from eXputer: "2015's Fallout 4 received harsh criticism upon launching, but I think it was unwarranted and the game deserves more praise than it got."

helicoptergirl6d ago

It was totally that bad. I couldn't finish the campaign it was so bland and boring as I recall. Got so sick of it. 1000 stimpaks on hard. It is very rare that I play half a game and then just quit. I usually always finish it. But i was so bored with this game I just stopped and never went back and never regretted it. Just thinking about that game makes me shudder

Furesis6d ago

That's exactly what happened to me too lmao
Fallout 4 is not a fallout game period it's a bethesda game

Vits6d ago

The comparison with Skyrim is mind-boggling. Yes, Skyrim has streamlined many of the systems that Morrowind introduced. However, it did not tamper with the core of the Elder Scrolls franchise; it did not diminish the freedom and sense of exploration that made Bethesda RPGs famous. Fallout 4, on the other hand, did exactly that to the Fallout series. It eliminated what made Fallout such a beloved series to play. There are no consequences for your choices, no reason to explore, and barely any interesting set pieces in the game.

It's not terrible, but it's a painfully mediocre game in a franchise that typically doesn't produce such mediocrity. So that is why people see it as bad, the bar is just much higher.

anast6d ago

They both feel the same because they are, it's just that one has swords and magic and the other has swords and guns.

anast6d ago

I'm replaying it now. It sucks. I'm about 30 hours in and thinking about quitting again. I am so tired of the dialogue I just spam a random button because it doesn't matter. The upgrade just feels like a graphical mod, everything else is not good.

Good-Smurf6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

I couldn't play the game as-is it was insanely boring and grindy and the grind itself are not fun at all.
Mods helped me stomach the game a bit better but after a while I just stopped playing and uninstalled it because the game did nothing after the first few hours to give me any motivation to keep playing it, it just became a mindless looter shooter with obsession in settlement building and defending.
Compared to F3 and FNV, F4 was barely a mediocre game it wasn't bad but it's also very forgettable entry.

MrDead6d ago

It's not that bad after 300+ mods that fix it's issues and make the game fun... but lets not talk about mods right now as they are f****d.
