During this afternoon's Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten will be coming to 3DS.
Amazon has discounted Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past to $29.99, Dragon Quest XI Echoes of an Elusive Age to $49.89, Dragon Quest Builders to $16.80 and Dragon Quest Heroes II to $16.49.
The venerable Nintendo 3DS is entering its twilight years. After a rocky, uncertain launch, the system built a following and a library that allowed it to become one of the most successful systems released, and it certainly has the top-tier games to show for it. Before [people] put the handheld into long-term storage (or if [someone is] just now getting one), check out [Michibiku's] guide for the best the system has to offer!
After three years, Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past is finally available throughout the entire world. This availability is of particular note for series fans in Europe (and Australia) as the original PlayStation version was never released in those parts of the world. So for many, Dragon Quest VII may as well be a brand new game, and thanks to it being such a unique and captivating JRPG, it feels like one.

YES YES YES YES!!
Now with the 3DS you can play and beat the following in the west.
Dragon Quest IV-V-VI-VII-VIII-IX and upcoming XI(LOCALIZATION is definitely happening.
I already beaten IV-VI. Currently playing IX.
Now for DQ I-III maybe if they remake those as well.
Been playing this in Japanese for a few weeks now and I can confirm it's really good. Everything has been remade and it has PS2-era graphics. Reminds me of the DQV remake on PS2, but has a bit faster system and more animations etc.
The most charming and frustating game i've ever played on PS1.
