A Wii Wave Race Project Got Far Enough to Have Its Own Patents

NL:
When we consider long-abandoned Nintendo franchises we'd like to see again, there's always a chance - if it's a top 10 - that Wave Race will come up within such lists. Those with fond memories of the Nintendo 64 may reminisce over its entry, even if the Game Boy original passed many by, while its last release was Wave Race: Blue Storm on the GameCube. That was developed by Nintendo Software Technology (NST) and released way back in 2002.

Good. I would had hated Wave Race Wii if it only had motion controls.

Wave Race NX would be beautiful, and with a normal controller would actually be fun to play.

Try Riptide GP: Renegade - that's a pretty fun game.

I second this, Fantastic game made by an amazing indie studio, runs like butter too smooth as.

Riptide GP2 and GP Renegade are amazing games, also offer 4 player split-screen (6 player on Xbox One)

Made by the same team that made Hydro Thunder Hurricane.

Advance wars = YES YES YES YES YES
A port of Kid Icarus with PROPER controls
A port of Starfox from WiiU with PROPER controls
Animal Crossing
Oh and a port of Hyrule Warriors - Fantastic title
Oh and also port of all Zelda releases - maybe a nice box set with all of them

Starfox Wii U had proper controls. The problem wasn't the motion controls (which worked superb), it was the 2-screen gameplay. Asking the player to try and focus on two screens on a fast paced game was too much, and it proved to have a big learning curve that a lot of people didn't have the patience to overcome.

If they reworked that game so that you only need one screen, it would vastly improve. The motion controls themselves are just fine.

If Wargroove sells well, maybe Nintendo will take notice and bring back Advance Wars
