While the implementation of microtransactions was a hard pill to swallow, the entire mess that followed could have been mitigated (possibly even avoided entirely) if Overkill hadn't taken the consumer-hostile route at virtually every turn.
GB: "Of course, Payday 2 has had its fair share of ups and downs as well, in spite of the success that it has enjoyed. For starters, the disparity between the game’s PC and console versions is a major issue that plagued the game for years on end, thanks to the frustrating optimization issues across platforms brought about by the Diesel Engine, which the game was developed on."
Payday 2 launched 10 years ago today, and a constant stream of updates still makes it worth playing ahead of Payday 3.
Starting today, Payday 2 is free at Epic Games Store. The free game offer runs until June 15. Once you claim it, it's yours to keep.
It's only now after the Micro-transaction incident that people realised Overkill were A-Holes....
Console players could have told you that a long time ago :/
When you read articles like this you begin to realize how awesome CD Project Red really is, literally on another level. I will support the consumer friendly developers every day of the week, while devs like Overkill will never get my money.
Greed is slowly destroying this hobby. Cheap sales tactics, and placing price tags at every turn will ultimately bring this entire industry down,
Thank Microsoft for introducing this to console gamers.
Didn't watch the video, but paying to unlock literally more powerful things isn't bad?... Lol OK gamecrate. So what is then?
