The biggest Gaming disappointments of 2015 so far

2015 is almost over, so I (Sharn Daniels, The Gaming Ground) thought that I would be a great idea for me to creat a "The biggest Gaming disappointments of 2015 so far" list. Well, I have made my picks, so check em out.

Mortal Combat X was a disappointment? Didn't it review AND sell well? Complaints about the SP notwithstanding.

I guess that he meant that Mortal Kombat X didn´t feel like a "full" game on release. As you had to unlock characters, for example. As for reviews, MKX got everything from 75 to 85% (PC, Xbox One and PS4). He also listed "Multiplayer had region locked servers on PS4", "easy fatalities could be bought for a short fee" as the reason why he was unhappy with MKX. Nevertheless, it´s his opinion.

I really wasn't disappointed with any of them as I wasn't expecting much. Most were obvious annual release cash ins. Or non-lead dev teams. I don't know what the hype for Evolve was all about... it sounded tragic on paper, I didn't think it would make a good game. An online game that focuses on a very specific group of gamers rarely works out.

I haven't played Need for Speed, but with online only, no pausing, constant product placement in your face, and some pretty bad acting (that I've seen), that was kind of a let down. I somewhat enjoy N4S, but I have to pass this time. As for Mortal Kombat, I think the core Kombat fans determine if the game is good or not. I've enjoyed some MK games that the core base hated, and disliked some that the core base enjoyed, so I guess I'm not really qualified to know what a good MK game is.

No, it isnt that bad. Its pretty great. Will be damn near perfect for a NFS game once they fix the AI.

It got 10/10 form most big reviewers some how yet it's an average game at best and an overall disappointment.

Brand name - Metal Gear Solid

Studio/Developer in charge - Kojima

Sympathy card - Konami and Kojimas bust up & Kojimas last MGS game

Other - Reviewers not playing it enough to let problems sink in

That's how it did so well despite being a huge disappointment...and the sad thing is, this shit keeps happening.

Yea I agree. The Order represented everything that is wrong with games that emphasize graphics over story, design and gameplay.

I don't understand why this site generally thinks that game was "deep" or had any redeeming value beyond it's graphics and History channel Original movie tier presentation. Sure there's plenty of room to improve but why praise what doesn't exist? If you looked up a description of a "Rental game" you'd see The Order Boxart.

The Order and Halo 5 were the most dissapointing for me. The story for MgS5 kinda let me down but overall its a far better game than the two I mentioned.

The Order 1886

The reveal had me pumped as well as later previews (even the negative ones and there were many...) werewolves, steampunk, knights of the round table, and the best graphics of the year. There's no way they screw that up. We'll turns out the preview trashing the game were correct and we soon found out why they delayed the game. I mean who delays a game to add fun?

Now I know diehards here love the game flaws and all but the weight of hype, expection, and poor delivery crushed any desire to waste money on a pretty but lazy release from a mediocre studio.

Speaking of mediocre studios...

Halo 4 was a damn good first effort at the franchise. Exploring the relationship between Chief and Cortanna really saved the game from being mediocre with the new generic enemies with their generic weapons.

Now Halo 5 comes along and instead of continuing that story they RKO us outa nowhere with some BS about chief going awol and some epic battle between him and Locke and all that was of course BS. I only play Halo for the lore and main campaign and could care less about the mp so this has to be the biggest disappointment of the year. By the way, waited all damn year for the big exclusives from MS and they drop this on us....

The Order us a GOTY contender in my book and Assassins Creed: Syndicate is the best AC yet so those definitely shouldn't be there. Not sure why MKX or Battlefield is there either. Evolve, MGSV, Tony Hawk, Batman and Star Wars next.
