First Footage of Playroom VR's Ghost House on PSVR Released

VRFocus - Back at the 2015 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in March Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) introduced a new version of its PlayStation VR virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD), then known as Project Morpheus. Along with the updated kit the company introduced some new software for it, including a continuation of The Playroom series in The Playroom VR. This collection of VR minigames is set to be a launch experience for PlayStation VR. Today, a video of one of these experiences, Ghost House, has arrived and can now be seen below.

Driveclub showed a VR demo, but didn't they say they hadn't decided if they would release it?

Ninjatogo3112d ago

This genuinely looks pretty cool. All that motion when sucking up the ghosts is sure to look amazing when viewed in VR.

MasterCornholio3112d ago

Ghostbusters VR game.

Thats pretty cool

JustGamin853112d ago

Dope, i wonder if the headset can be used to play normal ps4 game's? Would be kind of cool to play the games i already own with the headset on while laying in bed at night.

MasterCornholio3112d ago (Edited 3112d ago )

Hopefully Sony does that. Heck even a virtual movie theatre kind of thing would be great to have.

JustGamin853112d ago

Yeah i think seeing how the headset wont be cheap, but if it can play games or let me use the ps4 apps that would be great. I could just imagine, no neck cramps no hurt back. Just laying down normally and either watching a movie or gaming haha. Total laziness at its finest lol.

WelkinCole3112d ago

Surely they would allow that and also with movies in cinema and or 3d view.

Opportunity lost if they don't.

uth113112d ago

It depends on whether the coprocessor is powerful enough to scale an arbitrary video stream into a VR virtual screen really. It's not quite as trivial as it seems

Ninjatogo3112d ago

@uth11 Should be possible and pretty easy to do given smartphones today can do it with Google Cardboard. All scaling work can be done on the main PS4 GPU.

the force awakens 3d bluray will be breath taking!

I can finally play Half Life Alyx.

mariopasta52d ago

I can finally watch pron, I mean watch pronouns be pronounced in PC VR games that were previously not available on Playstation.

crazyCoconuts52d ago

be careful not to sprain your... tongue pronouncing those pronouns

Profchaos52d ago

I'm excited for that to plus I can try fallout 4 VR always wanted to play that

crazyCoconuts52d ago

I was lucky and held off on 4 until I played it in VR. It really is pretty awesome - you'll love it.

The icing on the cake would be if Sony / Valve allow for a Steam Link app much like it is for the Quest 3. Likely wishful thinking, though.
