There is definitely more games than I thought. I knew they had a lot of support but I didn't realize there was this many games currently in development.

As to how many are coming out at launch, I believe Sony already said there will be 10 games at launch, just like a console launch. The rest will be coming after launch.

it also says driveclub but they said they aren't doing VR the VR they have done was just a tech demo to test VR with the game.

Getting disagree but this was the statement made about driveclub VR last week.

"We've got plans for the next six months," Rustchynsky said regarding the immediate future of the series. "We're going to be releasing more content, more updates and more features. We'll keep that going. DriveClub VR? At the moment it's just a prototype. We don't know what we're going to do with that just yet. If it gets good reception here - which I think it will - I think that could turn into something more than just a tech demo."

So why is driveclub on a confirmed VR games list..

FFXIV is said to be a tech demo also like DriveClub but it was shown as an upcoming game for it at Sony's paris game week. DOA Fans will eat it up on VR.

watching all those trailers has really turned me off of the PS-VR. Almost none of those looked like games I like, and it has the same indy monotony that seems to plague the system (why is every damn indy game coming out trying to be the same 5 damn games? half the horror games I've seen just want to be PT, but without Kojima's giant brain to make them awesome.
They really need some RPGs both J and western, and not crappy MMOs like the Final Fantasy game. Make Wild and Firewatch VR.

i'm sure some will love it , all i see are 53 games that could have been made for the ps4/xb1 in mind . wonder what gems we are losing because they are designing around what works for VR .VR is worse than f2p hooks for hardcore gaming imo .

Whether you like it or not they are still PS4 games just like Kinect games are still XB1 games.

Also Sony has to give PSVR plently of support otherwise it will flop for gaming like Kinect for example.

I think theres a very good chance Rigs will be bundled with PSVR unless theres another title they have in mind. Everyone remembers Nintendo included Wii Sports and I think this will be the same case. It sweetens the deal.

Will be interesting to watch how Sony balances their 1st party stuff moving forward. Obviously they want to support VR with games that are made from the ground up for VR but they are still going to need to serve the main non-VR audience with games that are designed to not use VR. There certainly will be some cross over games that will support VR in some fashion but I don't know that those games will be a compelling use case.

I wonder how many of these will simply be tech demos like launch titles often are. I think the intrigue of just wondering how they will feel to play will be taken advantage of with some very shallow gameplay experiences. One thing I worry about with VR is the actual on-rails games. Not ones with just linear gameplay but ones in which you do not control any movement except looking 360 and possibly shooting. I've played a few (free) Oculus and Gear VR games which demonstrate this. I'm just hoping that is only restricted to the free content.
