Activemessiah3109d ago (Edited 3109d ago )

pneumonia? bloody hell... I had no idea it kills.. R.I.P

pasta_spice3109d ago

Yeah it can kill...although it is usually only considered life-threatening to the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. It's rare for someone so young and presumably healthy to die from it.

R.I.P Miyu.

Mikefizzled3109d ago

Slightly off topic, Do you think Japan has a weaker immune system on a whole? Since it's not uncommon to see people wearing breathing masks.

3-4-53109d ago

Mike you may have Japan confused with China.

MazzingerZ3109d ago

Many are unaware they have weak heart...that's mostly the reason behind it...if you get a disease that really stresses the body and you happen to have a weak heart then it's really dangerous and we are not only talking about diseases...it's enough that you lately have been working really hard or being nonchalant when it comes to sleeping enough, eating well, in other words, taking care of yourself...hell! a really bad hang over combined with one of those diseases can kill many.

She probably had bad luck and caught her with no defenses. Too young.

Mikefizzled3109d ago

Just checked because I knew I wasn't mistaking Japan for China. http://www.japantoday.com/c...

nitus103109d ago (Edited 3109d ago )

@Mikefizzled

Actually wearing a mask is considered common courtesy when you have a cold or cough in countries like Japan so as not to pass the germs onto others.

In most first world countries and Japan is one of them the majority of children are immunized against the most common diseases, however some for a variety of reasons op out and even though those non immunized people are more susceptible to disease they usually don't encounter the disease since most people are immunized.

Of course there are exceptions and even an immunized person can still fall sick to a particular disease although the probability is much smaller.

Pneumonia kills many many people per year. Look up a list of notable people who have died from it and you will probably be a bit surprised.

inStereo3109d ago

I believe Jim Henson died from some form of pneumonia, as well.

Mikefizzled3109d ago (Edited 3109d ago )

Regarding the beloved Mr Henson, "The official cause of death was first reported as Streptococcus pneumoniae, a bacterial infection that causes bacterial pneumonia. It was later classified as organ failure resulting from streptococcal toxic shock syndrome."

Not the same but sad nonetheless.

Narutone663109d ago

It starts out like a common cold, but the person infected are not getting better and are getting weaker and weaker. My daughter got it earlier this year, we rushed her to a hospital and she was confined for almost a week.

rainslacker3109d ago

I lot of people just think it's a really bad cold(similar symptoms early on before the lungs fill with liquid), and many people don't seek treatment for a cold. Typically it gets pretty bad before seeking treatment, and it's not always possible to treat after a certain point.

Mike also pointed out it can be toxic to the organs at times, which can also cause death if not caught soon enough.

Usually when it kills someone young. Its due to underlying health issues. Something else that the pneumonia made worse. R.I.P. Im 36 so when young people die it. Puts mine into propective.

God Bless her and her family.

UnHoly_One3109d ago

Yeah no kidding. I'm the same age as her. :(

JohnathanACE3109d ago (Edited 3109d ago )

A good friend of my dad caught a rare form of pneumonia and passed away so yes, it can be very deadly depending on the type of pneumonia.

Also R.I.P Miyu Matsuki. You died way too young.

Unfortunately there are many people who die even younger from many different causes.

From my perspective she died way too young and my sympathy goes out to her family and friends.

The Tales Of series are some of the best RPGs I've ever played, and the characters are a big reason for that. I don't think I played a single game in the series that I didn't enjoy. Rest in peace.

Snookies1251d ago (Edited 51d ago )

Damn, that sucks to hear... His designs were always wonderful.

H950d ago

RIP, sheade some great designs, man it's one after the other this year

FinalFantasyFanatic49d ago

We're 3 months into the year and I feel like we're taking nothing but L's.

autobotdan50d ago

Wow she was the character designer for Tales of Destiny one of my favorites of all time =(

scorpio_204950d ago

I love the Tales games. Phantasia will always be my favorite. Ironically I felt like as the series progressed the character design became too “anime cliche.”

Dragon's Dogma and XCOM 2 are the best deals. The rest of the games are still overpriced. I would say 8.99 is good for AC: Origins, but you need to put $10 more into MTs to avoid the grind that slows down the story. So, the game is actually 18.99.

It's not on this list, but Pathfinder: Kingmaker is only $9.99. This is a deal if you have a current gen. consoles, as it runs poorly on prev. gen.

hangdang699d ago

I beat AC origins without grinding or spending any money on MTX?

anast698d ago

I had to grind for side missions. So, did many other people.

Has anyone been able to login in to the ps store on ps5 I haven't been able to in days and my network is good.

RedDevils698d ago

Reset or shutdown your PS5. I always can go login to PS5, in fact just a moment ago.

HeliosHex698d ago

Hey thanks again. Although the shutdown/reset didn't work i found that resetting the mdm and hub did the trick. I use a Lan network instead of wifi. In case anyone has a similar setup and problem.

RedDevils697d ago

I forgot to mention about the router reset, that usually do the trick when it come to network problems happen with iphone/android. btw np

It’s really it’s own story , but like anything takes some inspirations from other sources, fantastic game so far, you absolutely don’t need to have played other tales games at all to enjoy this to its fullest.
