13 Year-Old Wanted Grand Theft Auto, Used PowerPoint To Convince Parents

So, michaelsiemsen’s 13 year-old son wanted a copy of Grand Theft Auto V, a very adult game designed for adults. To try and get his way, instead of stealing a credit card or crying for days, he did a very adult thing and put a PowerPoint presentation together.

Imo 13 is old enough to play gta. At that age you should know right from wrong and the difference from a video game and real world. My parents let me watch Rambo and Terminator movies growing up.

cant you pick up hookers in this game? bjs, and way more with audio and that one character raping guys ? lol 13 is old enough.........?

SonyKong643122d ago

he's already masterbating 3x a day and has access to the Internet..

do you actually believe there's ANYTHING in GTA V that he hasn't already seen?

living with your head in the clouds creates adults that think jet fuel melts steel.. just stoppp ✋

UkrainianWarrior3122d ago (Edited 3122d ago )

SonyKong - jet fuel doesn't melt steel. It does, however, heat it enough for it to lose the majority of its load-bearing strength, causing the collapse. Perhaps it's time for you to take a physics class and take that tinfoil hat off..

Mega243122d ago

wow... you can't be more wrong. It's M for a reason. Wait a second.. are you 13 and trying to convince people to buy it for you?

MRCodey473122d ago

I've been playing video games since I were four years old and watching mature rated horror films since eight years old. I'm 38 now... I've only buried five people under my patio. I'm a well balanced individual, if you ask me.

TheCommentator3122d ago

Lol, good one MRCody!

Hate to call your bluff, 'cause that was funny as hell, but you would have been 4 in 1980 and the ESRB wasn't formed until 1994 after Mortal Kombat was published. In 1980, the closest thing to an M rated game was Custer's Revenge on Atari 2600.

I'm 39, and watched whatever I wanted to. Hell, I saw every R rated movie you can think of... I even saw Conan the Barbarian at the show!

Born April 1977, four in 1981
In my defence your hono(u)r, I did state "video games" and not mature video games. I did start my gaming experience on an Atari 2600.

And ESRB doesn't affect me because I'm from United Kingdom.

I was watching the goriest of horrors at 8 years old.

Glad you liked it TC :)

UkrainianWarrior3122d ago

Hey genius, some kids are emotionally mature at 13 to handle R-rated stuff. It's the parents' call, since they know their child...

13 is old enough with good parenting. It's the parents who aren't mature enough to educate their children who are to blame. Then they end up blaming GTA when their kid shoots a gun out their apartment windows at cars driving past. I can tell you from experience that pointing a copy of GTA directly at someone is not dangerous. I would have to assume that leaving a loaded gun in the house with your unattended child is a bit more to blame in this instance.

Scatpants3122d ago

I guess 13 is old enough, but 13 year olds are impressionable as F&*k. That game is more foul mouthed and violent than I expected when I played it. I was actually sort of surprised.

Dirtnapstor3122d ago

Speechless... And we wonder why society as a whole is in decline. Smh.

Lord_Sloth3122d ago

The issue with this logic is what was okay for you and I at 13 may not be okay for others at the same age. Not all kids develop at the same rate.

As a parent this warmed my heart.
But its apparent after reading the first slide that he needs to be hooked on phonics instead of playing GTA V slaughtering hookers.

Relientk773122d ago

Too young to play GTA, Call of Duty, Halo etc

UserNameIsNotTaken3122d ago (Edited 3122d ago )

How old were you when you played violent games?
I was 5 and I grew up just fine. :P
GTAV is still questionable since it has a presentation that... you know.

FullmetalRoyale3122d ago

The first M rated game I ever played was God of War(the original), I was seventeen, and I bought it myself. Just like having your first beer at twenty-one; it felt like a rite of passage. I wasn't allowed to watch South Park when I was a kid, but when I was old enough it felt great to watch it.
I would raise my children the way in which I was raised. Certainly not to judge others' right to do what they want.

Lamboomington3122d ago (Edited 3122d ago )

for GTA V I would say 13 is too young.

That said, I probably played my first GTA games (GTA 3 and then Vice City) around the ages 13-15, so I don't know. xD

Still don't think it would be responsible as a parent to put GTA 5 in front on a 13 year old, because that game has some legitimately disturbing stuff.

pompombrum3122d ago

I think it all depends on the person. I've known 13 year olds who are mature enough for games like GTA, likewise I've known many 18-20 year olds who probably weren't.

I feel for the kid anyhow, to go to such lengths just to play the game. I had strict parents too but luckily had plenty of friends who had access to these sort of games.

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing6923d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos23d ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Demetrius23d ago

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy8523d ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

Demetrius23d ago

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
