Inside a 60 gig Xbox 360

Key points from Ben Heck:
Current 65nm CPU & heatsink… same old "super" GPU heatsink.
Does not have the bottom-mounted memory chips.
The new ones with a 65nm CPU are 175 watt.

Voozi5758d ago (Edited 5758d ago )

So I guess the GPU is still the 90nm one and not the smaller 65nm as we thought it'd be.

Some minor changes here & there, lower power consumption, looks good to me overall. Just waiting for my Target or Walmart to get these in stock so I can go pick one up since my older 360 isn't properly functioning right now for reasons I do not wish to disclose atm XD

you pulled a quagmire?
Edit: Sorry, just came back from the floppy physics thread. Couldn't help it.

karlostomy5758d ago (Edited 5758d ago )

Yeh looks like CPU is 65nm
GPU still 90?

hmm.

fanboys can't give credit to the other system even when the proof is in their face.talk about childish.

ZeroBlitz5757d ago

I don't know much about this so: does it reduce the possibility of getting the RROD? I want a 360 (if only for Fable 2 and some other RPGs) but I'm waiting till it gets more stable hardware. Also, do I need to pay for XBL for Fable 2's co-op?

You wanna know what's inside? A LOT of heat.

Stubacca5758d ago

I found this kinda interesting but was shocked to see there wasn't a hamster inside on a wheel. Those wee dudes have one helluva awful work enviroment, what with the over-heating and crap exclusives...

DarkSniper5758d ago

Welcome to 2006. Microsoft is incorporating a feature that has been a standard in PLAYSTATION®3 consoles since it's launch date. By Microsoft adding 60 gigabytes of space to their platform, Dark Sniper is convinced that Xbox 360's identity is to be the follower. Sony is playing the role of the pied piper and Xbox 360 is simply being obedient mice, following the path of the leader.

Dark Sniper prefers innovation, which is why he's sticking with PLAYSTATION®3.

$niper

BigBaehr5758d ago

*Breathes in* You smell that $niper? A fresh batch of red rings. My favorite.

UnSelf5758d ago

yea i kno the smell real well, happened to me twice in less then 3 months. (SNIFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF FFFFFFFFS, exhales) ahhh the scent of reliability, i love u Sony

Microsoft_Spokesman5758d ago

Copying others is like crack to us, Microsoft. We do it once, then we're stuck with it. Once in a blue moon we get off out crack, heroin and LSD and create something-then we go back to copying.

?

You mean the 360 Elite with a 120GB HDD that Sony followed after having a 20GB and a 60GB PS3 at launch?

Thing is: the PS3 needs a large HDD because of the forced game installs on the slowwwwww access time on the BluRay drive.

The 360 can do with a 20GB HDD or even just a memory card and play the game, even better on the 360 then the PS3 does with 99% of the multiplatform games. But with this fallupdate you can choose to install the complete game to load 30% faster. Only if you wish to do so. So therefore the 60GB and 120GB can be usefull but not an obligation.

DarkDiaper fails. As always.

b777conehead5758d ago

at least with a ps 3 i can put what ever size hard drive in it that i want to. and the only reason Microsoft is coming out with being able to load the game on the hard drive is because msft choice the out dated dvd 9 instead of a higher capacity fomat. and as far as the load times on the ps 3 your totaly wrong blu ray is faster then dvd 9 .

b777conehead5758d ago

yea msft rushed the 360 with design flaws up the gazooe rrod disk scratch. a out of date dvd 9 . yea if thats leading edege to you then me and you have a difeeance of opioion to what leading edge technology is. to me leading edge is a system that was well tested . i leave my ps3 on all the time it docent have a heat issue. a bluray disk drive not to watch movies on but to play games on with more info then a dvd 9 can handel. a new designed cell engine that once the devs get up to speed will show off what the great ps3 can do. a hard drive on all ps3 plus you can upgrade the hard drive with any size you want not by what x box makes for it. pog if you haven't already you need to go buy a ps3 and really get leading edge technology

TheMART5758d ago

"at least with a ps 3 i can put what ever size hard drive in it that i want to."

Correction: at least with a PS3 you are FORCED to put in a larger size HDD because the standard 40GB one isn't enough to have all those forced install games to fit. Thus, on top of the 400 bucks spend, you need to fork out another 100 bucks just to keep your console running. So actually the PS3 costs 500 bucks, while the 360 with the 20GB HDD or even the memory card can play it all.

"and the only reason Microsoft is coming out with being able to load the game on the hard drive is because msft choice the out dated dvd 9 instead of a higher capacity fomat. and as far as the load times on the ps 3 your totaly wrong blu ray is faster then dvd 9"

Wrong again. Go check all the multiplatform games on both machines and see which is loading faster. The 360 version does. The PS3 install only is needed to keep up with the 360 version. You can find multiple video's comparing the loading. The BR might have a faster MB total read speed, but the main problem is especially on the delayement in searching ms etc. But again, go check out reality go check out the versions running besides each other. Too bad. You failed again. Furthermore, 99% of all games fit on one DL-DVD, so you failed there again. The PS1 had some multiCD games, was it a bad platform because of that?

"to me leading edge is a system that was well tested"

You mean thats why they found out afterwards it needs forced installations, because they didn't test the BR over being slow?

"i leave my ps3 on all the time it docent have a heat issue."

For what, for curing cancer? And to get the earth heated up even further blowing all that electricity and getting all that oil and gas used up with all the morons that keep their PS3 running day and night. So you're responsible of the water in seas rising and especially poor countries that can't do anything about it get flooded. Real nice dude there. You kill more then you save.

"a bluray disk drive not to watch movies on but to play games on with more info then a dvd 9 can handel."

Wrong. It IS for movie. Sony pushed the format and forced it into the gamers console.

"a new designed cell engine that once the devs get up to speed will show off what the great ps3 can do."

Wasn't it supposed to do 1.5 years ago already? And still its not up to speed. Mmmhhhh makes you wonder. How long will it take to unlock it? another 1.5 years?

You're talking out of your ars

thats the infamous "unhackable" lite on drives. with ENCRYPTION. omg. we might see an end to xbox 360 hacking.

tatotiburon5758d ago

the same thing people thought about Hitachi 79, the same thing people thought about BENQ drives and the final result?

Masko5758d ago (Edited 5758d ago )

the hitachi 79 was a beast for real. i have a feeling they will get around this for real. the thing about this lite on drive is the encryption. they cannot get to read the firmware. the benq drive was real easy to hack just as the samsung. this drive is quite different now.

Megatron085758d ago

Well nothing is impossible. With enough time there is someone that will figure out how to hack it but hopefully it will help slow them down at least

cmrbe5758d ago
