How Big Can It Get: Information on Scope of Cyberpunk 2077

"Hours upon hours, controller in hand, story unveiling across the screen, and challenges of hand-eye coordination coupled with rational thought games molding together: video games. It is no secret that video games have gotten fairly steep in price, hence why gamers seek that biggest bang for their buck. The hunt is almost never ending, trying to find that perfect balance between precision game play, riveting story, beautiful scenery, and enough length to keep you engaged without boring you." -- PlayStation Enthusiast

At least its the same team that worked on the witcher 3, so I think its gonna be good.

Please CD Projekt Red, let me go into every building I can gain access to on your map and allow me to explore any floor or room in each if I want to.
The only thing preventing me from doing this should be if I can't find a key or code for a door, but all buildings should be accessible.

When a futuristic open world game or even a modern one doesn't allow you to do that it breaks the level of immersion.

If CD Project Red are going to do this then the sheer scale of places to go and things to see could be enormous and I could understand how this game could be considered larger than even TW3.

I can't wait to find out more about the game, though I know CDPR have said they won't be talking about the game until 2017.

KiwiViper853134d ago

@Mrsec84

What the..?

How does that break immersion? Locks were invented for a reason, because your not supposed to be able to wander into every house. I wouldn't wander into my neighbours house and start exploring, let alone a total strangers.

I'm fine with unexplained, inaccessible buildings. Because that's how it is in real life.

Immersion...

Mutant-Spud3134d ago

And if I recall the "realistic" NPC's in Two Worlds were incredibly annoying, if you walked into a house you weren't supposed to the whole village would try to kill you.

MrSec843134d ago

@KiwiViper85:

Re-read what I wrote, I said let me go into every building I can gain access to.
Notice I said CAN GAIN ACCESS TO.

What I mean is that there shouldn't just be a bunch of dummy buildings, with nothing inside!

An open world game is meant to be about freedom of movement, to be able to go anywhere on a map you can explore freely at your own choosing.
The only limitations on where you can go should be the realistic ones, like a door is properly locked.

I'm not talking about the player just being able to break into any room because they want to. I'm saying that there should be stuff inside of every building in this world, not some empty void with nothing insider.
In an open world game no building on the map should be an empty block, just put there to fill some space on the map.

It breaks immersion when this is meant to be a world where the player can go anywhere they can see and you can't enter any room that should be accessible to the player if they do the right things to gain access to them.
Also in a game where I can hack and I am working against the system in some fashion rules and laws shouldn't be something that stops me from going where I want.

You're meant to feel like a renegade and use your skills to hide from authorities to avoid getting caught.

In the real world I know that I can break a window and go into basically any building I want to, the only thing stopping me from doing that are the consequences, the same should be true in an open world video game.

CDPR have said they will not talk about cyberpunk 2077 until 2017 ans till than its all witcher. Part of me thinks they will re-release witcher 1-2 for ps4/xbox. just because the 2nd piece of witcher 3 dlc is due out early 2016 so for them to do more witcher till 2017 means either more expansions or possibly witcher 1-2 for ps4/xbox one

--bienio--3134d ago

there is no point to release Witcher 1/2 on Ps4/XboxO why? Not enough time, people Anyway Cd Project sad there is no plans for this So No Chance.

Games That Were Bad on Release, But Are Now Great

BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.

Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."

Good list..hoped to see Street Fighter 5 there..and it is.

Vits10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.

darthv7210d ago

Several years ago, i submitted an idea to Rare that would change up the mechanics of battling opponents in the game. whereby if you died in battle, you turned into a skeleton warrior and had to fight your way back to the land of the living. It was an interesting twist on respawning and would allow the player to experience both sides of a battle.

I keep hoping to see something like that get added to the game.

Kaii10d ago

They consider FO 76 & ME Andromeda to be great now 🤭

anast10d ago

Every game in the last 2 decades...

INMATEofARKHAM10d ago

It's sad that this quick retort is more often than not true... The industry's acceptance of release and patch has gone too far.

gunnerforlife10d ago

Days gone! By the end of the game I couldn't drop it down! I went around so many hours killing zombies! It was addictive by the end.

S2Killinit9d ago

That game was just plain good game. It didnt improve, it was just good.

gunnerforlife9d ago

I don't know, I got it abit late, and struggled for a few days, and then all of a sudden it just got good!!

Well they are using unreal engine now thanks to there work culture and horrific job on making cyberpunk so for the future no impact.

But it will be interesting to see what mods will be made

just_looken22d ago

7 disagrees shows how many look at one dlc that had a rip off fight from ghost in the shell and goes wow what a goat team i love cdpr while ignoring that they only made 2 games that were good witcher 2/3 in 20yrs.

But its a new world we want a criminal that support's legal murder as president/support shoplifting love toxic work environments and have a mass casualty event every other day.

GhostMirror22d ago

I’ll admit I didn’t play it at launch, but Cyberpunk 2077 is a really good game now.

And who the hell knows what you’re even going on about in your second paragraph here.

EazyC22d ago

Wait a min...I swear to god CP2077's source code got leaked before. CDPR needs to stop using "password123" for all their accounts 😅

just_looken22d ago

Na its hundreds ex employees no doubt just getting there revenge.

Profchaos22d ago (Edited 22d ago )

This is the same leak the threat actors have been trying to sell the source code after cd project didn't pay the ransom.

They didn't manage to sell the source code to any company largely because it would be unethical for say EA to buy it so the threat actors failed to find a buyer.

After they failed to make any money they went through with their threat of simply giving it away.
