Face-Off: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune on PS4

Digital Foundry:
If you're planning on picking up The Nathan Drake Collection and still have a copy of the original PS3 game lying around, we'd recommend loading it up yourself to check out the difference. It looks great regardless, but revisiting the original will help players better appreciate the improvements made to the remastered version. Picking up the Dual Shock 4 after slogging through the PS3 original truly feels like a breath of fresh air. With its first chapter, the Nathan Drake Collection absolutely delivers - this is truly one of the finest remasters we've seen to date.

It looks like Eurogamer loves that remaster. Me too!

freshslicepizza3167d ago

quite an improvement.

i would imagine the forums back then were just as bad as today because if anyone was to talk about all the screen tearing and dropped frames the fanatics would come out swinging in a heartbeat just like today.

good job on the remaster and it just goes to show why 60fps makes a big difference no matter what genre you play. the remasters to me are welcome as well because just like movies many people want to replay them and if they can look and perform better then that's an added bonus. you also have more exposure to the games that others may not have had the pleasure to play before. that's why i don't get why anyone would have an issue with remasters.

Back then, Xbox fanatics were a dime a dozen. So you can bet there were tons of cynics bashing anything Playstation related. That dark time of last gen really soiled the "console war" for me

Bluepoint are on point with the Nathan Drake Collection, pun intended.

Only a few more days to go now.

Spoiler warning in the first video, just a heads up for anyone new to the series.

Looks great though!

"Improved aiming" im curious what they changed.

Game looks great by the way.

I think they said that both Drake's Fortune and Drake's Deception adopted Uncharted 2's aiming system which is great because 2 had the best aiming IMO.

Resistance 3 is such a great game. One of my all time bests.

cooperdnizzle706d ago

Couldn’t agree more. Still love It as a shooter to this day.

Just something about that game. I really wish they would just do a remaster, don’t even need a remake just bring it up to todays out put, touch up a few things if any, and I am there to buy it day one.

Of course I would love a remake built from the ground up. As long as they treated it like Shadow of the Colossus, or close to those type of remake. Wouldn’t want it to get the RE treatment…. Just because the game is already paced so perfect and hits all the right beats that I wouldn’t touch that aspect.

The Inconsistent Harmony: 5 Examples of Ludonarrative Dissonance in Video Games

VGChartz's Issa Maki: "I finally have a proper designation akin to what I've always referred to internally as 'the line that must be crossed' or 'The Line', for short – ludonarrative dissonance – the separation from a video game's story in relation to its gameplay. Why isn't PETA all up in Mario's grill for jumping on turtles and killing fish, or charging Samus Aran with the extinction of the Metroid species? Ever notice how fire has that habit of making bosses in Resident Evil stronger? Read on my friend, for I endeavor to imbue you with the ability to engage in basic queries concerning the concept."
